@randylarcombe Hi Randy, I could not be more impressed with how you put together my video - you put the students front and centre and the eyes opening visual was better than what I imagined when you were gathering the footage.
@prof_hutchinson I suppose what I mean when I say I just work with kids, it means they are the heroes of my story. I agree that it is important work and my greatest satisfaction is when I see the students take ownership of their STEM learning to tackle issues that are important to them.
Well done to STEMM Educator of the Year – Primary or Secondary School Level – Graham Wegner!
Mr Graham Wegner is acknowledged for his contributions as Assistant Principal at Prospect North Primary School, where he developed great STEMM programs and opportunities for students.
@PeterKaridis Thank you for the acknowledgement - I want students from complex, ESL and disadvantaged backgrounds to see STEM as part of their future and that their potential contributions are as valuable as anyone's.
Here’s my teaser video as a Finalist for the #SAScienceAwards - interesting how this quote was picked out of the interview I had as being representative of what I do. Hope there’s more in longer version about working with and providing opportunities for disadvantaged students.
Experienced teacher @grahamwegner says communication and problem-solving are essential skills for students looking to master STEM topics.
A well-designed STEM unit can engage all children, even those who may struggle with other areas of study. #SAScienceAwards

Nice pic of my team at SA FLL State Championship. My awesome Robot Technician moved to Melbourne the very next day but will be joining us in Sydney for the Nationals. https://t.co/7IlhGNEOud
Not that many people would be concerned with my infrequent tweets but a shout out to my awesome First Lego League team, Synergetix, going to Sydney National Championship next weekend. Check out their blog at https://t.co/jmMxwnP9PE or on IG officialsynergetix #FLL@FirstAustralia
@shareski Forgot to push this anecdote out to you from last week’s golf game. You know your shot is offline when your playing partner says, “It’s gone right of that cloud.”
My FLL team have been anticipating August 1 for the start of the #intoorbit season but came to the sinking realisation that everything won’t be released until Midday Aug 1 US time! That’s 2am tonight so will have to wait until 2Aug Aus time.
This season’s FLL kit for #intoorbit arrived this afternoon - now we await the build instructions and the rest of the much anticipated details to get building, programming and researching. @FirstAustralia
