Data Privacy Update – 10K Laptops for 10K Nigerian Youths

As the Data Manager of the 10K Laptops for 10K Nigerian Youths initiative, I confirm that all NIN numbers and uploaded NIN documents collected via the Google Form on November 11, 2025, have been permanently deleted from our database.

This step aligns with our commitment to data protection and confidentiality.

The accompanying video serves as evidence of the deletion process and verification of our transparent data-management practices

The team keep trying to wake those pretending to be asleep. The naysayers will never stop having something negative to say about the project. (something I as a person is perfectly okay with and truly expect).

We kept diverting the little manpower we have to attend to these accusations because we want to include everyone and be fair. I give it a few hours, new formatted stories will start to surface.

But, eh, we will review the thousands of applications when we can. It’s not like there are real people who genuinely support this project and are rooting for its success. It’s not like there’s someone out there on their knees hoping to get a message saying they've been moved along in the process.

Obviously, every member of the team has no personal life or obligation that they still need to get to.

I Only Understood Real Poverty After Becoming Emir — Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido.

The Emir of Kano and former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, says he truly grasped the reality of poverty only after ascending the throne.

Speaking at a public lecture themed “Weaponization of Poverty as a Means of Underdevelopment: A Case Study of Nigeria”, Sanusi noted that many Nigerian elites are disconnected from the daily struggles of the poor.

“As an economist and former CBN Governor, I saw poverty in numbers. But I didn’t understand it until I became Emir,” he said. “When you visit villages and see the water they drink, the dilapidated schools, and the absence of basic infrastructure, it hits differently.”
