@CF_Budge I hope college baseball doesnโt get TOO popular because then weโll get all kinds of casual fans and TV networks complaining about - and hoping to change - the greatest postseason tournament in college (all?) sports.
@FranmilsEyebrow the "don't forget that the owners are billionaires and they can secretly afford massive payrolls" narrative is already so old (and so wrong). i'm not anti-union, but i'm starting to hate the MLBPA.
@BCB_Sara@CBSScottWhite A lot of Mike ilitchโs spending was at the expense of profitability and was from his personal infusion of cash to the team. He was trying to win a championship before he died. Thereโs a reason spending dropped after he died.
@dgsommersmkts 1. Who cares what the founders envisioned - Iโm sure they didnโt expect weโd be the worldโs super power and that the dollar would be the global currency
2. How does reducing spending decrease inequality?
@dgsommersmkts lol โincreasing taxes furtherโ weโve been reducing taxes consistently over the last 35 years. And no one is close to overtaxed at the federal level. Maaaaybe the corporate tax but thatโs it.
@RobSilver i don't know whether the owners are losing or making money, but assets don't have to "make money" in order to increase in value. See, for example: your house.
