@oarodlie Bless you. I’ve been doing my work straddling between my Mac and a Linux laptop with Friction loaded. BIG fan of Enve; was sorry that development stopped and highly elated to see that you’d picked up development on it as Friction. Thank you!
There is an AMAZING new Humble for #gamedev artists (and I suppose artists in general).
You can get Corel Draw 2024, Painter 2023 and more... full and most recent versions with perpetual licenses, for a literal fraction of the normal price.

@Rainmaker1973 I remember this from college. My teacher was a master at this...makes me think that I should have kept up with it. Haven't touched my markers and gouache in decades. It's TRULY an art form.
@oarodlie Re-read this with more understanding this morning. What you've done, my friend, is given us back a form of Flash/Director with all of the interactive features you've put in this. THANK YOU!!! I understand that Rive also serves this purpose, but will take what I can get.
@pikimov Question: given that Pikimov (loving it, btw) is using Chrome as part of it's backbone, would it then be possible to create it as a desktop app in Electron or Electron-builder. Please understand that I know nearly nothing about programming. Just a designer. Thank you.
@jorenkandel Another way to look at it would be:
Motion graphics (2D vector):
- Cavalry (layers)
- Friction (layers)
Motion graphics (3D & VFX)
- Blender (nodes)
- Apple Motion (layers)
- Autograph (layers)
- Hitfilm Pro (layers)
- Fusion (nodes)
@jorenkandel The AE “replacements” in this space generally would be:
Blender - M/W/L
Apple Motion (Mac only)
Left Angle Autograph - M/W/L
Cavalry - M/W
Blackmagic Fusion - M/W/L
Friction (a fork of Enve 2D - no Mac version; W/L only)
Hitfilm Pro - M/W
@MattWagnerComic@starlord The ORIGINAL Star-Lord AND Ship! HATED the Milano in the MCU…was waiting to see Ship but didn’t know how much they’d changed the character over the last 25 years.
