@ASDFaust @Moritzva2 We've normalized depicting the Devil in humanized ways, but since we've assigned his role to the likes of Hitler now we're stuck dealing with the idea of humans so evil that they cannot be humanized... and yet can only be acknowledged as caricatures and used as insults.

@ASDFaust @Moritzva2 It's precisely because the othering of Commies/Nazis as 'heresy/exceptional evil' has been ingrained into western values post-ww2 that we reach the point where that it's become a secular version of calling people 'the devil' or 'heretics'.
