digital, startups, active travel and other chat. London Cycling Campaign's Climate Safe Streets Champion for the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames
@LBRUT Shows almost nothing in any of the LBRUT parks, apart from *some* of the cafes. Don't you think it's time we caught up with civilised world and provided drinking water fountains?
๐ถโโ๏ธ๐ดCHALKER'S CORNER WALKING, CYCLING & WHEELING SURVEY ๐ฉโ๐ฆฝ
Join us and @RichmondCycling this Sat 9th July at our Chalker's Corner event!
We will be surveying cyclists, pedestrians & wheelchair users about action needed to improve safety and active travel at this junction ๐๐ธ๐
@Charlie_Hicks_ Good piece and well put. I appreciate that 'the idea of an LTN' is different to saying I want one on my neighbouring street but these are important numbers and show people want safe spaces and less traffic. Where can I find this report please?
@0jhl The cost comes from the enforcement, so I would say you can't then discount the income from that same enforcement. But, yes, perverse and regressive to charge a bicycle in a hangar but an electric SUV worth multiple ยฃ10ks is free or next to nothing
@0jhl I agree with the general argument, but that cost is wrong. A quick look at the data, CfL take the cost of managing all parking, but do not offset the income from short-term parking and enforcement, which brings most boroughs into a (narrow) profit.
Love the #ThisIsAwkward campaign! In Richmond we have a waiting list of over 700 people for bike hangars - they simply can't be rolled-out fast enough.
Another week, another awkward billboard goes up in Islington ๐
From closets to kitchens, #Londoners have been sharing pics of the weird places they keep their bikes due to lack of cycle parking.
HUGE thanks to everyone who's shared so far. Keep 'em coming using #ThisIsAwkward
