if you saw that notice about a Terms of Service update, this is the main clause it changed.
it explicitly lets twitter use your posts and any attached media — including images, videos, and their audio — for the training of AI models like Grok.
it will be in effect November 15.
prior to this Terms change, users were able to opt out of training models like Grok. but this addition appears to succeed that, leaving it a mandatory part of twitter use.
Whoever hacked the @internetarchive needs to know that you've done the equivalent of pulling off a bank heist at a public library.

As of 12:30am PST I have located the Box and successfully executed a Rickroll Injection Attack on the target system. Out of respect for the artist I will not be revealing the Box's location, but for any veteran Mission resident only a couple obvious locations exist.
I installed a box high up on a pole somewhere in the Mission. Inside is a crappy Android phone, set to Shazam constantly, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's solar powered, and the mic is pointed down at the street below https://t.co/8D4yYNBPgu
Today we honor the memory of all those we lost on September 11, 2001. May we never forget their stories – and the bravery of our first responders and troops who sacrificed so much.
We are saddened to share the news that Russell Taylor passed away on Monday, August 19th, 2024. Russell, a university lecturer at SFU, was a valued faculty member of SIAT for 22 years.
We mourn the loss of an exceptional colleague.

RIP Russel ❤️
"Russell Taylor taught graphic design at the School of Interactive Arts and Technology. #SIAT#SFU says he was an “extraordinary” teacher, and it will be delaying the department’s undergraduate classes in his honour."
