@FistedFoucault Considering how insanely easy it's been to illegally migrate to the US for the last few decades, it's telling that way less than 1% have done so.
Even the majority of Mexicans don't bother to cross the border, in spite of the economic incentives.
@5h1ttyP3t3@FistedFoucault My claim is American prosperity is a mirage. You have lots of paper money (like Arabs) but nothing nice to show for it. Your cities are ugly, your houses are cheaply made, your food is low quality processed garbage, you have shorter lifespans, worse health, more workhours, etc.
@5h1ttyP3t3@FistedFoucault I've said repeatedly the US is richer than Europe. Can you read?
The point of this whole thread is that in spite of its wealth, the US "is an absolute shithole compared to Europe overall".
I'll ask again: Is Dubai better than Europe because it's richer?
@5h1ttyP3t3@FistedFoucault I already acknowledged America is rich, just like Dubai or Saudi Arabia. But like those countries, it's ugly.
People go to America to make money. They go to Europe to spend it.
(And it's not just city centers. US rural life is trash compared to European villages/small towns.)
@5h1ttyP3t3@FistedFoucault I love how Americans always start with the nature, which they didn't do.
Obviously people move to the US for the money - it's certainly not for the "world-class cities". It's a place to make money, not a place to experience high-quality life, just like Dubai.
@5h1ttyP3t3@FistedFoucault Better than being an open-air gas station flooded with people who hate them. You really think Buccees and Taco Bell impress Europeans who have beautiful ancient cities? It's beyond delusional.
@eet_eet_eet@FistedFoucault He lived in the nicest part of North America and decided to move to the poorest part of Europe for a better lifestyle.
Who else would have more skin in the game for the living standards comparison?
@dontbeaprole@loscharlos@PutrinoLab "Among younger siblings with high disease exposure breastfed for at least 15 months, their higher risk of hospitalization in infancy was eliminated entirely."
The article mentions it. It's really the solution to the entire problem.
@loscharlos "Among younger siblings with high disease exposure breastfed for at least 15 months, their higher risk of hospitalization in infancy was eliminated entirely."
This is the only takeaway you need from this article.
@realCarola2Hope The Soviets were the ones who fought on the wrong side. Between fascism, socialism and liberalism, the eventual winner was liberalism and that's the world we're living in.
Liberal West Germany imported millions of Turks. Socialist East Germany did not.
@ElokoMode@juliusssiezure Ironically, the book did more to make Westerners think of Iran as barbaric than anything else. What did she think was going to happen?
@realCarola2Hope Easily C. SF is the most interesting city to visit in CA (walkable, unique, touristy bridge/alcatraz/etc.), Yosemite is the best nature by far, plus Carmel/Monterey/Santa Cruz on the coast.
@Frank_Connolly_@KeithWoodsYT Aside from evil, they're also incredibly dumb. If instead of trying to cover it up they called an ambulance and Henry lived, Vickrum would've probably gotten a six-month sentence instead of 20 years. It was a slow-motion murder they're all responsible for.
@pdcjay@SaysSimulation Nope. This is the end result of capitalism. She's part of the 1% elite that the system creates. This has nothing to do with communism.
Capitalism brings in immigrants for cheap labor (free market!) and the rich make money off of it and live in enclaves. You're just not rich.
@theBasedPrince@mmjukic You can't just redefine words to win an argument. All of what you're describing is happening under a capitalist system. Hard to admit, I know.
