On December 19, 2024, Hickory Grove Division officers and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Crime Gun Suppression Team apprehended a third suspect in connection with the December 16, 2024, shooting in the 8800 block of E.W.T. Harris Blvd. After a brief foot pursuit, Jaheim Boone, 23, was taken into custody and then transported to the Hickory Grove Division. Detectives interviewed Mr. Boone. After the interview, Mr. Boone was arrested and charged with the following:
Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill (3 counts)
Discharge Weapon into Occupied Dwelling/Moving Vehicle (9 counts)
Possession with intent/Manufacture/Sell Cocaine
Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon (2 counts)
Carrying Concealed Gun
Resist Delay/Obstruct Public Officer Discharge Duties
Boone was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

On December 20, 2024, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Crime Gun Suppression Team and the Hickory Grove Division’s Crime Reduction Unit officers identified and located another suspect in connection to the shooting in the 8800 block of E.W.T. Harris Blvd from December 16, 2024; Joshua Woods, 21. Mr. Woods was transported to the Hickory Grove Division to be interviewed by detectives. After the interview, Mr. Woods was arrested and charged with the following:
Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill (2 counts)
Felony Conspiracy
Woods was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
