Full circle moment. When I was 16, I spent 3 months living in the mountains of Appalachia. We hiked all day, bow-drilled every fire for a hot meal, and spent all our time immersed in the beautiful outdoors. Now with @meriwetheracdmy I’m able to provide a sliver of that experience to other young men coming up in the world.
As the digital age tries to consume every aspect of our heart and minds, it can and will never take away our connection to nature. Anchor yourself deeply into the world’s undeniable realities and you will have built your house upon the rock.
I will be spending the next few years working tirelessly to develop @meriwetheracdmy into a full-fledged & accredited boy’s school. Young men need more than what public school and modern culture offer them, I will provide an alternative for parents who see the same problems I see.
If you and your son would like to join me for one of our adventures you can send me a DM or visit @meriwetheracdmy to learn more about our programs.
“Consistently some of the most profound, thoughtful, and intentional events I’ve ever attended. Highly recommend Meriwether to anyone interested in education, philosophy, and values.”
Gentlemen in Nashville are invited to join us on Sat the 13th for a special dinner symposium with Dr. Jason Pedicone on entrepreneurship in the cultural arena.
For men who have been looking for a community with their head on straight, this might be for you.
"I am losing precious days. I am degenerating into a machine for making money. I am learning nothing in this trivial world of men. I must break away and get out into the mountains to learn the news."
— John Muir
People compare Nashville to Atlanta and Austin, but I think New Orleans is a more apt comparison. Primary reason is because both Nashville and New Orleans attract tourism at a similar scale relative to the native population.
Last week I had the pleasure of hosting a men’s dinner for a dear friend and some of his closest colleagues. For around 5 years now I’ve been practicing and refining the art of the dinner party, particularly for an all male gathering.
These types of gatherings are important. Since the earliest days of civilization, men’s societies would meet to dine & debate with each other. These societies were truly the genesis of intellectual, cultural, and political vigor.
In essence, it is the spirit of fraternalism. Of male camaraderie. Of brotherhood. It’s crucial for a culture to flourish and be strong.
Since the 60s this spirit has been on the decline in America. The co-edification of our entire society stomped out the life of these traditional societal structures.
So after reading about all of this I decided to lean into the spirit of fraternalism and start hosting these dinners. To serve my fellow man and my country. It’s been nothing but on honor to see so many amazing conversations happen around these tables.
I use a Jeffersonian Dinner format, originating from the famous dinner parties that Jefferson would host at Monticello. You’d think it would get old overtime but it is still working all these years later.
Without exaggeration, some of the most profound and refreshing conversations I’ve ever been a part of are happening around our Jeffersonian tables.
If you have a group of friends who you want to dive deep with, I’d be happy to host one of these for you or teach you how to host them yourself. Just DM me.
And ultimately, my passion and love for fraternalism and my country have led me to start our boys’ school @meriwetheracdmy
But that’s a whole other story! Have a great day guys and let’s keep pushing forward. 🗡️
