There’s currently a leadership race happening within the Conservative Party of BC today is the first day to vote, and I’m proud to be supporting Caroline Elliott for leader.

Caroline was one of the very first people, alongside myself, raising the alarm on private property rights here in British Columbia. I just got out of a town hall with the federal Conservatives, and they made it clear this is shaping up to be one of the biggest issues in the next provincial election. Caroline has been leading that fight from day one.

She’s also been standing up for parents, pushing back against political indoctrination in schools, calling for real change in our health care system, and working on serious plans to get BC’s resources to global markets and create good-paying jobs here at home.

I truly believe she represents the next generation of leadership this province needs.

I encourage everyone eligible to vote in this leadership race to make Caroline Elliott your number one pick.

I have not changed my mind.

I’ve doubled down & tripled down.

I wish I could personally vote for Caroline Elliott.

She has the knowledge, the class & the conviction to take down Eby.

If you’re registered in BC, consider her as a top vote.

She’s against:

-Land claims
-DRIPA
-Land acknowledgments
-SOGI
-Drug addicts on the streets

The first 2 points, are tearing BC apart & making it an uninvestable province.

Caroline literally has a PhD in Aboriginal Self Governance.

She will put an end to DRIPA & Eby’s nonsense.

I was the first to endorse her.

Because I see the long game.

She has the “it factor” to pull those in the middle, into the light.

I’m confident she will turn BC around.

And despite her being clear in her positions, in the most unequivocal way possible, the best people can do to attack her, is say “she’s a Liberal”.

If she’s a Liberal, then apparently so am I.

She’s going to make an outstanding Premier.

I hope folks in BC see what I see.

I wouldn’t put myself out there for her, if I didn’t strongly believe in her.

I hope others do too.

Today I was proud to rank @NVanCaroline #1 on my ballot!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to moderate virtual town halls with Caroline connecting with thousands of BC Conservative members across the province. Through those conversations, I watched her answer hundreds of tough questions live, often from people who strongly disagreed with her. 

Time and time again, she showed up prepared, thoughtful, and willing to engage directly with members. (Caroline likes the tough questions)

Voting in the CPBC leadership race has opened up and if you're one of the 25,000ish people who are verified to vote please vote to go back to normal, vote for Caroline.

I have been knocking on doors and volunteering for conservative candidates my entire adult life. I know what it means to participate meaningfully as an active party member who wants a say in the future of the province.

I do not support disqualifying a candidate the day before voting begins. If we want to earn the trust of British Columbians, the Conservative Party of BC must hold itself to a higher standard than the NDP. David Eby may choose to have his political opponents removed from the process, but conservatives should not take that approach.

With voting set to begin tomorrow, I have serious concerns about rumors suggesting that a leadership candidate may be disqualified. I think that's the wrong approach. Members must not be deprived of their say without a clear explanation and evidence of wrongdoing.

Members are capable of weighing the facts before them and reaching an informed decision for themselves. They must be allowed the deciding vote.

I have an exciting announcement to make.

It’s one of the greatest honours of my life to represent the people of Lesser Slave Lake. You have placed your trust in me to be your voice, and that responsibility matters deeply to me.

Over the past year, I’ve taken some time to reflect on certain moments and on how I chose to raise concerns publicly, particularly when it came to colleagues and teammates in government.

While holding government to account is an important part of our Westminster system, I wasn’t elected to serve as a member of the opposition. I was elected as a member of the United Conservative Party, a team I was proud to be part of and one that the people of Lesser Slave Lake put their trust in. 

Looking back, there were times I let passion and emotion lead my decisions. My public criticism of the Premier and the government, particularly around the budget, came from passion for our riding, but I recognize now there was a better way to handle those disagreements.

I’ve always stood up for my constituents, and that’ll never change. But I’ve learned that how I raise concerns matters and that I’m best able to serve the people I represent when I work as part of a strong team.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to move forward, and I’m glad to be welcomed back in the United Conservative Caucus, where I belong, working alongside colleagues to deliver for the great people of Lesser Slave Lake and for all Albertans.

This is an exciting day for our riding and I’m ready to get back to work in Government.

We (Team Caroline Elliott) have been publishing our internals at nearly every point in the race, and predictably, folks say our internals are “made up”.

This time, our campaign commissioned a 3rd party poll to see if it validated our internals. I’m very happy to say that it has.

Here’s what we’ve been seeing (and what Pallas confirms).

1. Yuri experienced a surge in the immediate aftermath of his OneBC deal (from approximately 8% to approximately 18%) since the video we dropped of him saying we live on stolen land, and people starting to really think about the implications of the OneBC Deal, he has dropped back to where he was.

2. Elliott and Black have gained but the primary beneficiary of Yuri's collapse has been KLF. She is now in second place being chased by Black.

3. Iain Black and Peter Milobar have been locked in a “mini-primary” over who gets to be the standard bearer for the so-called “BC Liberal wing” of the Party. It’s clear that at present, Iain is winning that fight.

4. Yuri has spent most of the campaign attacking Caroline but 2nd ballot polling shows there are VERY few voters to get from her. He’s competing primarily with KLF for the same voter pool.

5. Caroline is still strongly in first place.

6. Undecideds are down to 12%. Much smaller than at earlier points in the race.

7. Still a lot of time left on the ice.
