@thealchemist473@VeritasAnchor@kylethewright So it’s not required? Or it’s just not real faith unless there’s some kind of marker that accompanies it? Or something else I’m not understanding?
@RealRangoStarr Maybe, (and that’s why I wouldn’t call anybody a liar) but there is clear written evidence of polygamy before 1852 from multiple sources.
@ShawnOnMission@VeritasAnchor If Paul truly is saying that an angel sent from Heaven might teach a false gospel, then how do we discern who has the correct authority to teach? Do we just trust Paul because we heard him first?
@RealRangoStarr I don’t like to call people I don’t personally know liars. But it would be strange if Joseph Smith only taught that to Brigham Young and not the other apostles when there wasn’t any clear succession strategy for Brigham to become the next prophet.
@Ducdenghien@JasontheLayman That’s a dumb thing to say. Being wrong about a couple things and lying are completely different. We don’t believe in infallibility. But the keys to the kingdom are held in this church. The prophets and apostles are called of God.
@ben59_77@Joelkirbymcclan@God_Questioner Pray. Tell God about everything going on with your life. Don’t hesitate to ask God for any righteous desire. Talk to Him out loud or just in your heart. Talk to Him every day and everywhere. Talk to Him like you would to a loving father. Ask for faith. Ask for understanding.
@Ducdenghien@JasontheLayman No. It sounds like he did, but there’s some confusion on what he actually meant. But whatever it was, we’ve had clearer instruction since then from multiple prophets and apostles that Adam was a man and not God the Father. So either he was misunderstood, or he was wrong.
@Cincinnatus_X@LDS_Dems Well that’s dumb of him if he did say that. I think we all know that politicians are pulling those strings, but to say it out loud opens him up to prosecution of violating campaign finance laws.
@Ducdenghien@JasontheLayman Your question was about hand waving. I answered that. Your mention of “Adam God” was a comment. I don’t know what Brigham Young actually believed about that because he didn’t write his talks down. I do know what my current prophet thinks, though.
@Ducdenghien@JasontheLayman Because they’re borrowed claims that have zero substance behind them and show his lack of understanding. And if you think “Adam God” has anything to do with #10 it shows that you don’t understand the claims either.
