Jim Palmer when asked by Kevin Brown on the MASN broadcast about the Craig Albernaz-Samuel Basallo situation:
“He’s the manager. He said it’s about accountability, he’s the one that’s responsible for wins and losses.
“All I know, and I said this on Monday night, if you don’t play Adley Rutschman, you don’t play Basallo, and you’re trying to win games, I’m happy if I’m one of the Mariners pitchers. I’m elated. I’m joyful. I would send ‘em flowers saying, ‘Stay hurt.’
“If [Basallo] is able to play late in the ballgame, I’m surprised he’s not in there, that’s all. I don’t think this is the time when you’ve lost four in a row to teach a lesson. I don’t care how young you are. But that’s just my opinion.”
On the close play at second base in the 9th inning, this view shows Gunnar Henderson does take off on the 3-2 count with two outs. But he doesn't start sprinting until after Pete Alonso hit the grounder up the middle.
Here's what Craig Albernaz said about the play postgame:
"I haven’t watched the actual video yet, but knowing Gunnar, he always would say there’s something more that he could do. ... There was a lot of teaching moments in this game, just like in any game, and that’s how we have to get better to win those margins, whatever that is. So just like anyone, with Gunnar and everybody else, it’s looking at how we can get better and make adjustments."

The bear in the canoe might be the sleeper logo of the whole group. Completely unique.
