The 6th Special Session of the IOTC leads to historic conservation wins! Two resolutions on FAD adopted, regulating the use of  dFADs &  dFADs to protect tuna stocks & coastal communities. Starting in 2024, the proposal includes reducing FADs, a registry, & 72-day closure.

#Kenya imported ~70K tons of fish frm #China & Norway in 2019. #Somali don’t have a fleet, they gave a license to China. The same fish frm Somalia was imported by its next Kenya. Think of the #jobs & #supplychain. Somebody would say why #Africa is poor. We're intellectually poor
