At COP28 and Somalia joining in the Global Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency pledge, H.E @JamaTaqalAbbas has engaged in a bilateral meeting with the Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency, H.E @flacamera, to collaborate on Somalia's energy transition plan and facilitation of financing resources through @IRENA ETAF platform and support the implementation of Somalia Renewable Energy Readiness Assessment.

The 6th Special Session of the IOTC leads to historic conservation wins! Two resolutions on FAD adopted, regulating the use of  dFADs &  dFADs to protect tuna stocks & coastal communities. Starting in 2024, the proposal includes reducing FADs, a registry, & 72-day closure.
