In early June, Russia imposed sanctions on Alexander Browder, the son of financier William Browder, the driving force behind the Magnitsky Act and one of the Kremlin’s most prominent critics.

The teenager’s “crime” was serious: he published research on schemes used to evade sanctions through cryptocurrency. The report described a network of crypto platforms through which, according to his findings, billions of dollars in Russian funds may have been moved.

British authorities took note of the schoolboy’s findings and introduced corresponding measures. Moscow, apparently, also read the report carefully — and added Alexander to its sanctions list.

Now the schoolboy is officially banned from entering Russia. The threat must have been very serious🤷‍♂️

⚡️ Russian drones struck civilian vessels bound for Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea

According to Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba, a drone attack set a Panama-flagged cargo ship on fire. A 58-year-old Egyptian cook was killed, while eight crew members, including citizens of Turkey and India, were forced to evacuate on a life raft.

The vessel sustained significant damage.

Two other civilian ships sailing under the flags of Palau and Belize were also targeted overnight. No casualties were reported among their crews, and despite the damage, both vessels were able to continue their voyage.

Ubisoft co-founder Claude Guillemot died in an aviation accident in France

The 69-year-old businessman was flying to a meeting of an aviation club near Rennes. A flight instructor also died along with him.

Guillemot was one of the founders of the gaming company Ubisoft and ran Guillemot Corporation.
