Greenpill Dev Guild

We're a community of builders supporting @GreenpillNet & regen communities with tools & workshops focused on impact, capital allocation/formation & coordination

[Greenpill Dev Guild @greenpilldevs]

🌱 @greengoodsapp is one of the projects we build here at the Greenpill Dev Guild and it's in the final stretch of its @ArtizenFund round.

It's public goods infrastructure for regenerative work.

Communities document what they do in real gardens, operators verify it with onchain attestations, and funding flows to work that's been proven, not just promised. Offline-first, built for the field.

Two milestones make this a good moment to back it:

🚀 v1.2.0 ships July 8, a real step up in maturity and polish, ready for more gardens.

🤝 v1.3.0 in August brings commitment pooling, letting communities pool resources and route funding to verified regenerative work.

Every artifact collected and every boost helps unlock match funding. If you care about funding public goods and regeneration, this is a concrete place to show it.

Yesterday was a big milestone!

For half a year we’ve had tour bookings online available on our website @rifaisicilia

This weekend a couple from Czech Republic who has their own fruit farm and honey operation found us through a Chatgpt search looking for regenerative projects to visit. Butterfly Hill came up as a top result 🙌

We spent 4 hours together going from syntropic agroforestry site to the local market and finally to a picnic and hike in Sharewood Forest. (3rd photo Filip is inspecting porcupine droppings because he’s a trained zoologist and of course that’s interesting)

Being able to offer guided tours telling the story of our journey to nature lovers from around the world is a blessing and also helps to financially sustain the work and also brings traction to @higrowfi

Introducing Green Goods 2.0 🌱

Turn shared needs into clear promises: offer what you can, ask for what’s needed, and follow through with proof.

We have completed a wonderful journey with @arbitrum developing and growing the Green Goods protocol.

Thanks @maxlomu for your support, @arbitrumdao_gov for the funding and all who participated in using the platform.

Could a strategy that borrows on one chain, swaps on another, and repays on a third settle as one transaction?

Today every step is its own transaction, with bridging in between. EEZ is designed to run them as one atomic bundle: the whole strategy settles together.

We’re live with the @ethereumfndn, talking all things Octant, public goods, and Epoch 13's focus on privacy.

Circling back.

@grassEcon spent important years on xDai, which later became part of Gnosis Chain. Around the same period, Julio Linares and I were exchanging ideas about demurrage, mutual credit, community currencies, humanitarian aid, and people-created money as @CirclesUBI was taking shape.

Years later, Circles has evolved into personal currencies, Groups, a Web of Trust, and social routing.

Grassroots Economics has evolved toward Commitment Pooling and Cosmo-Local Credit.

The more closely I look, the more I see the two approaches revealing different layers of the same underlying system.

A Web of Trust already creates overlapping fields of acceptance.

Commitment Pools can make the goods, services, capacities, values, limits, and fulfillment inside those fields more explicit. And Gnosis may provide the rails for connecting them.

I wrote about that shared history and the possibilities I see ahead:

People issue. Communities curate. Cosmo-Local Credit connects. @gnosischain settles.

Thanks for the inspiration @deep45shah

[Obol @Obol_Collective]

Two years ago, @LidoFinance committed to distributed validators to strengthen Ethereum's decentralization without compromising performance.

Simple DVT delivered by beating the network average with zero correlated failures.

Obol now recommends expanding DVT across the entire Lido protocol.

[Jeff Dean @JeffDean]

Our general approach is to automate the experimental loop. We think this approach is broadly applicable across many different fields of science and engineering. We’ll initially focus on ML research and engineering, but believe the approach can help with important subproblems in nearly every one of the fourteen <at>NAE Grand Challenge problems. We think doing this well requires strong expertise in machine learning as well as large-scale systems.

[Stani @StaniKulechov]

Ethereum should not focus on gaming staking issuance and cutting staking rewards. That is not the problem Ethereum needs to solve.

Ethereum is still an unfinished product when it comes to serving the financial system. At the protocol level, the priorities are privacy, scalability, and security. We need real breakthroughs and the leadership to deliver them.

At the application layer, the focus should be on scaling the use cases Ethereum was built for: stablecoins, DeFi, and RWAs that bring the financial system onchain.

We have achieved a lot over the past decade, but the last mile matters most.

Please read this article, which is, much like the Traditional Dream Factory and RegenAvocadeo in Sicilia, an experiment to figure out Cosmo-Local community building in practice:

We tend to hear "capital" and think money, full stop.

@time_is_oba from @greenpilldevs widens it out: social, intellectual, and cultural capital, the things a community actually runs on. Getting "greenpilled" is learning to see and value all of it. 💚
