You don't have to move an entire mountain in a single day! - author unknown
Sure, Jared. I'll bite.
First, before we begin, let's establish that nothing is "free." Also, "Government-funded" is just another way of saying "taxpayer-funded." Now that we've cleared that up...
Can you explain why feeding children is automatically everyone else's responsibility except the parents?
Nobody is arguing that hungry children should go without food. But there's a difference between helping families who genuinely need assistance and making taxpayers responsible for feeding every child, regardless of their family's ability to pay.
And let's stop pretending these programs involve nothing beyond a free lunch. Federal child nutrition funding also supports breakfast programs, after-school snacks, summer meals, food procurement, cafeteria operations, staffing, equipment and administrative expenses.
Compassion for children shouldn't mean abandoning parental responsibility or pretending public programs have no costs.
Maybe before demanding that everyone else foot the bill, we should ask why the responsibility of feeding a child has somehow shifted from the parents to the taxpayer.
Answer that -- and we'll really get somewhere...
Look, suicide is a dark, awful thing, and I say this with deep respect and understanding for families who have lived through that nightmare. But we have to call things what they actually are.
The second you step onto a plane and try to take 174 people down with you? That stops being suicide.
You are a terrorist.
📺THE TEN WAYS THE MEDIA DISTORTS THE TRUTH (a/k/a “LYING”)📰
1. EDITORIAL CHOICES. The stories the media chooses to cover are often not the issue. What matters more is the stories they deliberately choose NOT to cover, and in fact they conceal. Good economic news during Trump? CONCEAL. Bad economic news during Trump? AMPLIFY.
2. OUTRIGHT LIES. Remember that time Walter Duranty of the New York Times reported on how awesome things were in the Soviet Union during the Holodomor? “Trump/Russia Collusion” anyone?
3. HALF-TRUTHS. This means reporting half of a story that supports the media’s agenda while ignoring the other half that undermines it. Yes, Trump called the people in Charlottesville “very fine people.” THAT gets reported. The rest of the statement where he specifically condemns Nazis and white supremacists? That is deliberately left out. That is how the half-truth lie works.
4. ANONYMOUS SOURCES. Almost always anonymous sources are unelected, frustrated federal or state officials who seek to undermine the electoral choices of The People. Almost always the media never bothers to check the veracity of what the anonymous “source” claims, and the story itself becomes the fact that some anonymous person “close to the matter” alleges what they allege.
5. THE “WRAP-UP SMEAR.” Step #1: A single media source reports a bogus story. Step #2: The rest of the ideologically-aligned media reports on the fact that the first media source reported what it did, thereby amplifying and legitimizing the original, bogus story.
6. INNUENDO + HIDING THE BALL. This is the use of lawyerly “weasel words.” First, create a story intro and headline full of false innuendo so that the casual reader forms a false opinion, and then bury the few actual facts at the bottom of the story behind a paywall. (Then congratulate yourself for being "accurate" via weasel words.)
7. OPINION AS NEWS. In the era of 24/7 news coverage, inflammatory opinion is treated as news. I estimate that 80% of what passes as “news” these days is actually someone’s highly biased opinion.
8. PRETENDING TO HAVE ETHICS. So-called “journalists” tend to cover-up their lies, omissions and half-truths with bold claims of having some code of “ethics” they follow while in reality being some of the least ethical people roaming freely on the planet.
9. MEDIA-WIDE, DELIBERATE SELF-CENSORSHIP. The matter of Hunter’s laptop leaps to mind. This is the practice of the entire media colluding to suppress a story or discredit it until such time as it is OK to tell the truth (for example, after an election when the harm was already done). Another example is the non-reporting of Joe Biden’s obvious mental decline.
10. SELF-CONGRATULATION. Groups of journalists celebrating the lies of other journalists with self-congratulatory awards like the Pulitzer Prize are a cancer on the entire news media. These “awards” serve no purpose other than to legitimize lying.

There is no profession that is more deceitful, evil and reprehensible than the modern incarnation of "journalism."
Two months ago, I predicted Democrats would find some reason to not vote for Clarity even if Trump agreed to their demands.
The reason: they refuse to give Trump any type of legislative victory before the midterms.
Career politicians in Washington only care about partisan politics and gaining control of the government. Period.
Everyone knows that I’m not a Trump guy - which allows me to make the point - they hate Trump and despise him being reelected so much - that if America was burning to the ground - and it was Trump who held the water hose to put the 🔥 out - they’d turn off the water.

0 Americans have died this year of measles. 300 per year died before invention of vaccine. The U.S. is managing the current Fauci measles outbreak better than any other country.
Over 1 million Americans will die this year of preventable chronic diseases tied to our food system.
Any medical influencer only talking about measles and not talking about chronic disease is a political hack, not someone who cares about public health.
Every generation has struggled until they don’t. Delayed gratification which seems to be nonexistent. In the early 80’s we didn’t think we would ever own a car much less a home. I was doing laundry at a laundromat and saw a for rent sign that changed our lives. Not overnight. It didn’t have a refrigerator and we couldn’t afford one. So we used a cooler until we could pay cash for one. 5 years later we bought the place. You can make excuses or you can overcome them.
Great discussion with @stephenasmith on why I still have serious questions for Dr. Fauci.
In 2010, before any pandemic existed, Fauci argued in The Washington Post that even a lab leak causing a pandemic would be worth the "knowledge" gained. That is not a pandemic-era mistake. That is a philosophy he held for over a decade and used as justification for funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan starting in 2014.
One of the downsides of a pardon that a lot of people don't realize is that you can no longer plead the Fifth Amendment when testifying about the crimes covered under the pardon.
This is the same as if you're granted immunity.
Of course then you fall into a perjury trap if you testify. And that's exactly what Fauci is staring at right now.
"And you would control your own labor"
WE ALREADY HAVE THAT
This is how socialists snake-oil you, by lies and manipulation. You are already in full control of your labor.
You control where you work. You show up and offer your labor at a price you think is acceptable, and you are free to negotiate further. If you think the hours, pay, perks, etc. are not acceptable, you are free to say No and walk away. Even if you find them acceptable, but a better opportunity comes along at a different company, you are free to offer that company your labor and walk away from your current employment.
If you apply and work at a job you think is good, you're already having your labor going to "good use."
You're free to even use your labor to work for yourself. Become an entrepreneur or start your own company. You can start small by working around your neighborhoods or starting a business in your garage or office. You can grow your business and offer your labor/services all around town, and you control your hours and prices.
Bottom line: you already have the freedom to control your own labor, you're free to determine whether it goes to good use or not, you're free to switch occupations or work for yourself. Do not be manipulated by socialists into thinking they can offer you something you lack but actually already have
Seems like a good day not just to talk about the DSA platform, which is (a) Communist af, (b) retarded, (c) unrealistic as hell, (d) childishly presented, and (e) extraordinarily radical -- calling for a new Constitution even -- but to do a thread showing its stupid points. 🧵
Paragraph IV is insane.
It starts off with a demand to organize because that's actually all Communists are good at except for complaining, lying, and breaking things. But what are they organizing for?
Not beating your individual boss or all the individual bosses but overthrowing the whole system! Revolution! What a surprise!
It isn't the bosses who need to be overthrown but the system that allows the existence of bosses that must go. That goes for cops, judges, and presidents, too.
The result demands "winning the battle for democracy," which must be understood in Lenin's terms of a proletarian democracy that silences and disenfranchises all bourgeois elements on behalf of "the people," which he literally described as a dictatorship (led, conveniently, by the Communists; led, conveniently, by him).
See, Lenin explained in State and Revolution (1917) that all existing democracies are actually bourgeois democracies because the bourgeois classes have unfair advantages. They're not real democracies, which would require revoking freedoms of speech and movement from the bourgeois elements of society and removing their rights to vote so that only proletarians (workers who have accepted socialism, in his view) can vote. That, he said, would be the first true attempt at democracy.
Ideal democracy, as he called it, was even more remote. Without "actual equality" (total equity, in today's language), the inequalities still present in the system prevent actual democracy. Thus, to make a true democracy possible, you need Communism, which is also stateless, so... you figure out who you're voting for.
Just kidding, you don't vote for people in the real Communism because everyone (who is still alive) all know what's best for everyone by their nature, and they only vote when decisions about using resources have to come up, which is pretty much never because they're all socialists by nature and don't do it wrong. That's actually true because real Communism has only showed up when everyone involved is dead.
But, hey! They'll draft a new constitution too, apparently, and turn our country, America, into a "democratic socialist republic," which is Commie-speak for a Communist Shithole and Terror Regime.
I don't know if you caught that.
The DSA platform explicitly says they're going to draft a new constitution, which would literally abolish the United States of America.
How these people can possibly hold an office or take a naturalization oath to uphold and defend the Constitution they openly say they'll get rid of, WITHOUT LYING, is a mystery to me.
That is, they can't.
DSA members should not be allowed to hold public office anywhere in the United States of America at any level, or hold any office in the public trust, nor be naturalized as citizens or keep naturalized citizenship, because their stated PARTY PLATFORM prevents them from holding and fulfilling the required oaths of office.
Enforce this.
Dear businesses,
If you are going to give a benefit to a first-time customer, make sure you give at least the same, if not more, to your loyal customers.
Loyal customers should be valued above those with whom you do not yet have a relationship.
The World Cup ends today. One game left. By tomorrow most of you visitors will be packing up, heading to the airport, going home.
So before you go, let me say the thing I actually want to say.
A few weeks ago I wrote a silly post about all the things you were discovering here. Free refills. Free water. Ice like civilized people. Chips and salsa before you even order. Air conditioning that is a fact and not a moral debate. Drive-throughs. Ranch by the gallon. The Germans standing in the HEB meat aisle in reverent silence, finally understanding why we do not have trains. Buc-ee’s, for which there are still no words.
It blew up, because it was true, and because you were so delightfully stunned by all of it.
Even the Wall Street Journal caught on. Their headline this week: how the US lost the World Cup and won over the world. We did not lift the trophy. But apparently we lifted something else.
We even learned a few things about ourselves along the way. Like the fact that Elon Musk, the single richest man on the planet, shops at HEB. Just rolls in and queues up for fresh tortillas with everybody else. The man could buy the tortilla company, the state it is in, and the moon it sits under, and instead he is standing in line at the hot-tortilla counter like the rest of us, because that is where the good ones are. Only in America is the wealthiest human alive elbow to elbow with a mom of four at the salsa bar. That is the whole country in one aisle.
And here is the part I want every one of you to hear on your way out the door.
None of it was a show.
We did not roll all this out because you were coming. The ice was always there. The refills were always free. The grocery stores were always the size of aircraft hangars at ten on a Tuesday. The stranger who adopted your whole section, the guy who gave you a ride, the waitress who remembered your order, the family that invited you to the cookout, that is not World Cup America. That is just America. That is Tuesday.
We are exactly like this when nobody is visiting. Loud, generous, ridiculous, overfed, and genuinely thrilled you came. We will still be exactly like this tomorrow when the stands are empty and the flags come down.
So thank you. To everyone who came, who sang in our streets, who cleaned our stadiums, who turned our cities orange and filled our bars and taught us your chants. You were wonderful guests, and you made a country that just turned 250 feel young and seen and loved.
And to everyone who could not make it this time, the door does not close today. We meant all of it. Come whenever. The porch light stays on, the fridge stays full, and there is always room for one more at the table.
You found out who we are these last few weeks.
Good news. We are like this all the time.
Safe travels home.
Y’all come back now, you hear. 🦋
