For Apple to have all the resources, technology, and money, somehow Siri has got to be the worst software I’ve ever used.
And that saying something because I still use QuickBooks and it’s terrible.
Physics has a word for the moment something becomes definite - the moment it finally gets witnessed.
Collapse.
The same word we use when a marriage ends.
I wrote about a wedding in Chattanooga I never forgot.

Outrage is an emotional diet. Like cotton candy and Mountain Dew, the damage may not be evident right away.
But it builds. Your dentist knows. And maybe your momma.
News 24/7 serves it daily because we keep watching. Whatever you fixate on, grows. Choose wisely.

Real?
It’s easy to confuse “did it happen” with “is it true.” Andy Griffith’s Mayberry didn’t happen. And yet with every episode - you know it’s true.
There are 45,000 Christian denominations. And guess what? They all believe that they are right and for many - that to disagree with their “informed” take on doctrine means eternal damnation.
So trying to get this perfect, that’s a no win proposition. Or rather it is an endless proposition with no meaningful timely finish line.
Your head will be attracted to this. It feeds the need for certainty and that feeling of superiority. To feel Better than. Smarter than. Even if just a tiny bit.
Or you can ask your heart. Find the opening not through logic or pure reasoning. I don’t think you can get there from here.
Your heart has wisdom - the Bible speaks of the wisdom of the heart.
How it gets in, there’s not one way so it might be worship, meditation, service, prayer.
It may begin to make more sense after you’re in action. Or not. And that’s OK.
The Gospel is not complicated.
Go. Be. Love.
@SahilBloom I like how you put this, delusional self confidence! Rumi: Life is rigged in your favor. Tony Robbins: Life is happening for you. And before then, the Bible: All Things Work Together for the good of those who love God.
@LOREXTECHNOLOGY any chance I can get someone from support who can help me with cloud recording issue that is not reading a script from a manual that does not apply to my situation . . .
@LOREXTECHNOLOGY I renewed my Cloud+ subscription July 29 and cloud recording hasn't worked since. Four support contacts and reps tools can't fix it. The plan isn't linked to my cameras at the backend. Who can re-link it?
We think hate separates us from our enemies. It binds us to them. We study them, predict them, rehearse arguments with them in the shower. Whatever we fixate on, grows.
Love your enemies. Plot twist - that command was never about them. It's to keep you from becoming them.

This is timely for me. And I am 59. The past year has felt like some kind of time warp out of Star Trek. Thank you for sharing this and many of the things that you mentioned, I am noticing the same things. In my younger days, financial insecurity, desire to impress . . . wanting to feel important - now I just want my children to call and visit.
My take on this passage . . . I think Lewis was saying this in a round about way: the real job is to discern what should be first and once you put first things first, the other stuff, the 2nd stuff, follows naturally. I don't read it as the way to get things is to be detached, whether you want a dog, alcohol or a woman. Although that doesn't sound like a bad weekend . . . I could leave the alcohol off and be OK.
I remember seeing you on Danny Miranda's podcast talking about The Blessing, Cody Carnes and Kari Jobe. Inspirational, to say the least, to not just listen to that song, but to hear it, to embody it, to breathe it in and just soak it up like a sponge . . . and now, months later . . . it's like a seed that has grown into a vine that is now bearing fruit. Thanks for sharing this!
