Day 2 of the Community Systems Strengthening Knowledge Dissemination Forum(#CSSForum) explored how digital health can strengthen service delivery, improve accountability and support more responsive health systems.
Among the examples highlighted was Murang'a County's digitisation of 170 health facilities, from Level 2 to Level 5, by 2023, demonstrating how digital technologies can enhance service delivery, improve efficiency and strengthen health systems
Drawing on this experience, Dr. Wendy Githu, Digital Health Specialist at Murang'a County Telemedicine, emphasized that as health systems increasingly adopt innovations such as AI and telemedicine, digital solutions must be designed to meet the needs of all people and ensure no one is left behind.
Discussions also highlighted the importance of protecting digital rights, strengthening trust in digital systems and ensuring accessibility and inclusion are embedded throughout digital transformation efforts.
The conversation reinforced a shared commitment to building digital health systems that are not only efficient and innovative, but also equitable, responsive and people-centred.

In @NakuruCountyGov, over 3,300 TB patients received timely, person-centred care through Tibu Lite, a simplified digital platform that redefined how tuberculosis (TB) data is captured, shared, and acted upon. With real-time case reporting, SMS follow-up reminders, and integrated community-level data, the platform has enhanced treatment adherence, streamlined workflows, and enabled faster, evidence-based decision-making across 20 health facilities.
Within just one year, TB screening rates increased by 36%, while uptake of TB Preventive Therapy (TPT) rose by 40%. Health workers—previously overwhelmed by manual processes—now focus more on clinical care, while TB coordinators have shifted from routine data entry to targeted mentorship and supportive supervision.
Over 40 healthcare workers were retrained, digital literacy gaps bridged, and Community Health Promoters actively engaged—establishing a scalable, data-driven model for patient-centred TB care. This success demonstrates how digital innovation can strengthen health systems, accelerate service delivery, and uphold the dignity of every patient.
As this successful digital transition—delivered through the project “Promoting Patient-Centred Care for Tuberculosis Patients through Digitisation of Facility and Community Data”—is officially handed over to county leadership, it becomes part of #Amref’s broader commitment to strengthening primary health care (PHC) systems. #Amref4PHC @unito@amrefit@AICS_Nairobi@NTLDKenya@MOH_Kenya
@WilliamsRuto Get off the car rooftops and think about your administration for once. Launching, or rather, relaunching fake projects, making roadside declarations, and campaigning for 2027 will not help us get out of the mess we are in.

@Mrwhosetheboss aesthetics are as important as the specs, physical differentiators between iterations and generations of the same model are key, especially for ostentatious buyers... wouldn't you agree??
