This is one of the most important macro charts for understanding why financial assets have remained strong despite persistent concerns about deficits, debt, and weak household balance sheets.
Because national accounting identities must balance, when one sector (government/households/foreign trade) runs a deficit, another must run a surplus (corporates).
@kaiphotojawn I've got warrants on it. Cautiously optimistic. Revenue growth seems to be happening but they really need to turn a profit this year or they'll have to dilute again next year.
China banned sulphuric acid exports today. Sulphuric acid is already being squeezed by Hormuz closure. Sulphuric acid is a critical component for semiconductor manufacturing. Taking a look at $ECVT.
@kungtjansteman Haven't made any articles on Xtract One since the Fall. Things seem to be going well though, revenue is up 70% year over year and they're pulling off some nice wins in the UK. The raise killed all momentum though for sure.
@KrakenStockRes It's definitely cheap. I'm seeing a lot of sass stocks at these kinds of pe's, 5-8. The market clearly doesn't think this business is sticking around.
@matt_levine@MartinShkreli This seems like your kind of thing.
Passed every stock's quarterly filings through Claude and told it to look for dirt.

@gregw134 (the one who started the $OPEN rally on WSB) just created a website to "find out if your stock picks are trash".
I fucking $LOVE it.

@DudesonZach@mdragoferrante Long term yes. Short term there might be some volatility for a couple quarters. They couldn't pass on tariff costs so they might still have some of that inventory to work through. We don't really know.
@Mr_Derivatives I actually bought a small amount of puts on $wmt last week. I don't care what the story is pe of 40 for 4% projected growth doesn't make sense. IV is really low too.

"During oral arguments last Wednesday for a case that will decide the fate of Trump's tariffs, most Supreme Court justices expressed skepticism that the duties were legal."

@Benzino1936@Venu_7_ I think I'm a dummy for writing this right before the quarterly report. It's still a great company, growing despite tariffs, but tariffs hit a lot harder than expected in q3 right after the stock had rallied and people clearly sold off. Lesson learned.
A little disappointing honestly. I was hoping for break-even and they had a 1.3M loss. Not huge but below expectations. Their competitor SGC also had a drop in Q3 due to tariff-related order pull forward, they probably had the same thing happen here. The call is tomorrow, we'll learn then. Margins dropped a bit too. So yeah disappointing but not entirely unexpected. $400k in buy backs so they feel confident in the company, and Q4 is always their best quarter. Looking forward to hearing more detail on the call tomorrow.
@mdragoferrante I'm hearing it's only $200 billion in fees collected. The US would just have to borrow $200 billion more to pay it back. That's not a good thing but the US already borrows that much every five weeks so it's not really going to hurt the economy.
