@MaureenCof30988@ZackPolanski They’re not trying to win, they want to get 30/40 maybe 50 seats and set themselves up to be the main opposition next to a devastated Labour and Conservative Party without about 20 seats each.
@UKInvisibleHand@RichardBurgon Monetary policy is designed and therefore it is a moral choice who it impacts the most. Stop using chat gpt and read a book.
@UKInvisibleHand@RichardBurgon It’s semantics. Sustained inflation causes inequality. The system relies on inflation. Unless the systems specific aim is to create inequality then it is broken. You may choose which of those two things is true.
@UKInvisibleHand@RichardBurgon Proves inequality? Eh? You are simply wrong here. Inflation does transfer wealth, from those whose work and economic activity makes the system tick over to those who own the system. Assets are pieces of the system. If you own these pieces you will benefit from inflation.
@UKInvisibleHand@RichardBurgon I don’t think this is a great response. You have just described how inflation transfers wealth from workers to rich people and drives inequality, proving that the financial system itself is fundamentally broken.
@TheGriftReport This is one of the dumbest arguments ever. Oh no, normal people joining a political party, that’s much worse than huge donations from
Wealthy people
@WillTatton@Sargon_of_Akkad Yeah, well you would just update these taxes when assets where sold I guess. You still lose out having to make that estimated payment every year because it’s usually thousands of pounds you could have working for you elsewhere.
