@CalMacFerries Thanks, but there were only 2 of us. My issue is that by taking public transport (rail) you may not get on with bikes, but if you strap bikes to a car and book a car space you'll get on. Given climate emergency it feels wrong to discourage sustainable transport.

@CalMacFerries I wasn't aware it was possible to book bikes. My understanding is that it's not. I appreciate it's not easy with the disruption, but unfortunately I'm reluctant to risk making this trip again given I had accommodation booked, and you can't ever guarantee that a bike will get on.
