The fastest car in the world is useless if it can’t brake & navigate.
These exercises help lay the foundation for stopping, changing direction, and using edges. Get comfortable with the necessary angles at lower velo, progress to faster velo.
Hammering these basics over and over will help develop better movers and better athletes.
I really have to use educational Twitter more often. It is my 24th year teaching...Can't believe it. Been through so much 17 years of Reynolds, 7 years of Grice, lots of great memories...reflecting...blessed

Arsenal and the "Rule of 4."
This is a recurring theme that takes place when Arsenal looks to build out from the back.
The "Rule of 4," or four heights, requires players to stand in staggered lines, minimizing the distances between each other. So, instead of a 3-1-6 build-up shape, where passing options into central spaces can be limited, Arsenal would move into a 3-1-4-2 shape, with players occupying each "height."
A similar rule is applied in wide areas but on a smaller scale. The four heights become three, forming a diamond shape, which allows Arsenal players to combine and progress the ball wide before switching play.
1v1 TIGHT SPACE.
- The attacker can only score inside of the scoring zone.
- Defender tries to steal and play back to server.
- Awareness of defender.
- Scanning frequency.
- Hide ball if unable to turn.
- Use opposite arm to create distance between you and the defender.
