We returned to 5 #Kano#NGA health facilities where trainings took place earlier this year. Got feedback + saw how microplan revisions went/how service delivery changed. The best measure of capacity building isn't what happens in training rooms–it's what happens after we leave.
In April, we supported #polio#vaxx in the entire Kasongo antenna in Maniema Province as a part of #DRC’s National Vaccination Days event. Coordinated by @Pev_rdcongo, we trained 340 staff to track 1,430+ vaccinators. First time we've supported vaxx efforts in an entire antenna.
In advance of a #DRC#malaria bednet distribution campaign, we coordinated a workshop for #data collection + validation in Kwilu Ngongo health zone, Kongo-Central. W/ PNLP and @SANRU_asbl, we trained 13 health workers + collected data that enabled production of 21 detailed maps.
We've just published v2 of our #NGA operational ward #boundary dataset! Produced with our technical partner @ciesin, the data cover 15 states. Data for the remaining 21 states will be completed later this year.

We've been racking up mileage in the 9 health zones of #DRC’s Maniema Province! In support of the #polio#vaxx campaign, our 22 technical supervisors have traveled 7,520km to train stakeholders how to use Vaccine Buddy/GTS, provide feedback on progress + conduct field visits.
In Kano State #NGA, some kids are missing routine #immunizations–but local capacity to address the gap is within reach. Working w/ local partners, we're helping improve skills + resources 1 health facility at a time in the 2nd phase of the Kano Spatial Capacity Building Project.
We're navigating rough terrain to support the upcoming National Vaccination Day in #DRC! We'll support #polio#vaxx efforts in the entire Kasongo antenna in Maniema, providing @Pev_rdcongo w/ vaxx area maps, health zone maps + health area maps. More updates soon!
We helped lead a 4-day @NMEPNigeria workshop for an upcoming integrated ITN/SMC distribution effort in Adamawa State! We distributed 229 ward #maps + 21 LGA maps, field tested a new automated catchment creation process, and held a stakeholder group discussion around the process.
We contributed to a new article in Vaccines! It discusses how #DRC’s EPI, GRID3, and partners used spatial #data to identify and reach under-vaccinated and zero-dose children. This effort vaccinated at least 40K in that population.

We just published v4.0 of our #Nigeria settlement extents! We added new blocks in urban and semi-urban areas and removed falsely detected settlements that were identified during fieldwork. Let us know what you’re doing with the data!

We recently provided support to the EPI's rapid #polio response in Maniema Province, #DRC. We provided 268 #vaccination area maps, 2 health zone maps, and 30 health area maps + trained 76 staff on how to use Novel-T’s Geospatial Tracking System and GEOPH’s Vaccine Buddy tools.
The 2nd phase of the Kano Spatial Capacity Building Project is underway! We're turning to capacity building at all 172 apex #health facilities in the 15 Local Government Areas that have the highest rates of #zerodose children in Kano. Work will continue over next 3 months. #NGA
We recently contributed to rapid #polio response in Tshuapa, #DRC. We provided 72 #health area maps + 3 health zone maps identifying where health workers would be deployed, trained 153 on using GTS/Vaccine Buddy tools, + supported 589 #vaxx teams/241 local supervisors w/ tracking
We recently partnered w/ #Kano State Bureau of Statistics for a capacity-building session around geospatial #data and evidence-based planning among bureau staff. Session boosted knowledge + skills, as well as strengthened bureau ownership over data.
We're proudly participating in the first joint #SMC-#AMP annual meeting in Kampala, Uganda. Engaging w/ colleagues from around the world, sharing our experiences and best practices with other orgs involved in #ITN distribution + #malaria chemoprevention.
In Kano #NGA we've led workshops to validate core spatial data for microplans that are used in #vaxx campaigns for zero-dose children. 1K+ participated + 19,880 settlements/621 health facilities were validated. 2nd phase of the project is underway + focuses on capacity building.
NEW DATA: W/ partner @WorldPopProject, we've published version 4.4 of our #DRC#population estimates!
Includes gridded pop. estimates for all 26 provinces. With this step, we've reached the major milestone of mapping the entire DRC.

We have officially wrapped the @gavi Equity Accelerator Fund project in #DRC. We worked with many partners to bridge #data gaps and empower local #health officials w/ the tools they need to reach every child.
We'll use the data to continue supporting health efforts across DRC.
NEW #DATA: W/ partner @ciesin, we’ve published v8.0 of our #DRC settlement names, #health facilities, health areas + health zones. The datasets now cover all 26 provinces!
We've reached the milestone of mapping the entire DRC, one province at a time.
