@Markosonke1 In the 1930's when the song was penned, Apartheid was not known. It was born from the pain of the Boer War where 30 000 women and children were killed in concentration camps. It was about fighting for a better future out of the poverty caused by the war. It is cultural.
@Sasha2648@I_am_Munaa I suppose you never travel. If you did not declare it on a physical SARS form before you left, not the useless app, they can charge you. However idiotic that may be, as you can see on the phone, etc, how old it is. Up to nothing more than being a normal person.
@Joe_Soap8088@amerikaners2025 If you follow it to the letter you must declare your wedding rings which you have worn for 40 years, your aging cellphone, laptop, you name it, so as not to be taxed upon return. Our politicians will have to declare everything down to their undies, as every item costs R 100 000..
@MwahafarN Years ago they got the information a bit late and had to organize hastily, as you completed the form on the plane. With the 24 hour rule they will now be able to plan better and more targeted. We know SARS's systems have been breached before, so criminals are probably planning.
@Recon1_ZA Why are you excluding SARS? They blow their own trumpet very well in the media, but deal with them and you will find yourself a victim of bad admin, poor responsiveness and a seriously hallucinating AI.
@LiveTrafficNPC@_ArriveAlive Confused as to how the Aarto demerit system will be implemented. Or will that just be enforced on some people in some areas?
@Nics86137044@SothoDudu Permanent residents cannot vote and still cannot, but they are issued with green ID books, reflecting their non citizen status. They could not get the new ID cards until now. To phase out all the old green books they must also be issued cards. Nothing else changes.
