Today in #FMQs, Russell is absolutely right to call out Scotland’s staggering tax burden under the SNP.

How can it be fair that someone earning £50k is £1,500 worse off than anywhere else in the UK? Hard working Scots are being squeezed while the benefits bill soars to £7bn on the SNP’s watch.

This is not progressive. It is unsustainable. People across Scotland are right to have had enough.

There are people in Glasgow facing waiting lists that can stretch close to a lifetime for a council house if they’re born here and don’t meet specific priority criteria such as being a parent with a young child or having a disability.

Yet if someone arrives in the UK irregularly and claims persecution, that same waiting list effectively disappears, because they’re processed through an entirely different system with different rules and entitlements.

It’s a situation many people find deeply unfair.

The Holyrood Elections present an opportunity. Vote with your feet and avoid @theSNP at all costs. It takes a special sort to think we need more people rather than grass roots change!

The forecast cost of Benefits/Healthcare in Scotland by 2030 is to rise by £6 bil.
It will take eye watering increases in tax, or unachievable Growth in the economy to sustain this.
The SNP want to add £26 bil to this via independence.
