Today is National Explosive Ordnance Disposal Day!
In 2010, Congress formally recognized this day through H.Res. 1294, honoring those who serve and have served in the noble and self-sacrificing profession of Explosive Ordnance Disposal in the United States Armed Forces.
Jim, a well known figure in the EOD community, passed away last night holding his wife’s hand and surrounded by his children and grandchildren. The man was hilarious, and I loved every minute I got to spend with him. He was as kind as he was funny.
He was planning on coming down for the EOD memorial this year, as he did most years. I was exited to see him.
I will miss him.
Today is mine and my ex-wife’s anniversary. The EOD community and my employees rallied around me more than my own family did. And they wonder why I don’t come around.
