I went to see the Blue Road – The Edna O’Brien Story this evening. It brought me to tears seeing one of my favourite authors near the end of her life.
She was wise and witty and her words leap off the page.
I went to a wonderful Orson Welles exhibition at Cinémathèque, Paris today.
He was a great actor and a very original movie director.
It’s such a shame that there was nn so much negative press about him when he was alive.
The three-month tribute to #orsonwelles by @cinemathequefr draws to a close on January 18, but a sampling of the "My Name Is Orson Welles" lectures have been preserved on a series of online videos. https://t.co/uclOmPdtuM
I can’t wait to go to the Berthe Weill art exhibition. She was a little known art dealer in my wonderful neighbourhood of Pigalle.
She has a wonderful collection of Modigliani and Picasso paintings.

I hate not finishing a book but I gave up on #4321 by Paul Auster.
The four different versions of Ferguson’s life did not hold my interest. It was very disappointing. I much prefer his early triologies.
@sophiegrenham Venice is known for the tramezzino sandwich - soft white bread, crusts off, generously stuffed with fillings like tuna and artichoke, shrimp and egg, or creamy cheese and vegetables.

@sophiegrenham I lived in Venice for 9 months as a student. It was great to find cheap gondolas and good bars off the beaten track.
It was also great to take the vaporetto up the canal in the mornings.
