Thought that as well for a long time and then saw that Fortiche's character team created their characters 99-100% solely in Maya. I gave poly modeling another try and found that the final topology was much lighter, cleaner and more detailed (paradoxically) that way
Doesn't matter that much if you're working in a style that utilizes displacement maps (eg realism or semi realism) though
@janhebein So much of social media and youtube especially changed when they switched to watch time instead of clicks.. Would be so interesting to see what effect it would have if monetization only counted clicks again (still somehow managing clickbait)
@starbork@SawyerMerritt probably oxidation of the stainless steel that was exposed from intentionally missing tiles across the heat shield (and maybe some that fell off during reentry)
I find that so cool! really intriguing that the work is based on very concious decisions with the topology instead of relying only on forms first. I tried to replicate it in Blender to not have a high poly first and the result in the topology is so much cleaner and way lighter then if I would have done a retopology ontop of a high poly model. It really forces you to plan ahead and know what you want to achieve
@CrawfishLAkings@danielgothits thank you for sharing that!! Just asked Grok about it and it matches the symptoms that I have for decades now really well so I will give an Ivermectin creme a shot!
@elonmusk I think you're falling into the trap of your old process mantra: trying to automating something that is probably better to not have in the first place.. I don't see how this contributes to the improvement of humanity other then maybe generating revenue to be used on other stuff..
looks great! Might be personal taste in that style but here are my two cents: on her right shoulder it seems the deltoid could use some more volume and the line of her pectoralis that is seen in her armpit area could flow smoother into the line of her breast underneath the shirt. Right now there is a sharp angle where both lines meet at the edge of her cropped top
@ZubyMusic I think it's partly because they can be held accountable by their own standards. That allows worse people to call them hypocrites and better people to expect better of them as well.
You can't appeal to someone's standard if that standard is already aimed downwards
