Building a company is especially difficult because you need to be good at both building a product and selling that product.

People who are only good at building will be too focused on it and just keep working on it because it’s “not good enough” or they “need it to be perfect.” It will become a hobby or a passion project, not a business.

People who are only good at selling will think they’re doing great and then be hit with the truth that what they are selling is becoming more and more vaporware every day. They will crash if they do not move fast, hire a team, and actually lock in.

Very few people are good at both.

Starting a company isn’t hard. Building a true, sustainable business is.
