Yesterday for UXR class I moderated my ~first panel~ with 5 star UX research panelists including @albanvillamil, @Astridpie, @JulietteSeive, Yingchan Zhang, and Shannon Call.
We discussed backgrounds, skills, networking, and changes after-COVID.
~ A thread of takeaways~

@respondent_io Frustrating experience renewing an annual plan. I’ve tried 5 credit cards, our account is blocked, and your CS has no idea what is happening. Your procurement team doesn’t reply to submitting an invoice either, or offer an extension. We need to do this by today.
My company @crunchbase is hiring Senior User Researchers. I can’t say enough about the culture and the major impact you have as a researcher. DM me if you are looking or know of anyone who might be a good fit!
I am exiting their practice due to medical neglect where they mixed me up with another patient (who canceled my treatment without my consent), which delayed my jaw surgery. They deny this but I have proof. They also sent my emails to the wrong email address for 3 months.
@AGRobBonta Alpan Orthodontics is upset I reported their mistakes to HIPAA and the BBB and is retaliating by sending me to collections while refusing to accept payment or fully itemize the bill and fees. They refuse to tell me what collection agency they billed and when.
But they said that they can make the whole situation go away if I sign a lifetime non-disparagement exit contract and remove my truthful online reviews. They will only discuss this over the phone.
One of my favorite talks today at #UXPABOS21 was @ryaninteractive’s talk on One Page research reports. It’s critical to make reports simple & easy to comprehend especially for busy stakeholders.
We have 15 sponsors and over 760 attendees at our annual - and second virtual - UXPA Boston Conference. A big shout out to our attendees, sponsors, volunteers, mentors, lunchtime table topic leaders, conference submission reviewers, and UXPA Boston Board! @uxpaboston#uxpabos21
Listening to a great talk on remote collaborative workshops from Michael Hawley! #uxpabos21
1.Facilitation skills (hardest part is reading the room)
2. Support multiple levels of engagement (breaks, participation, etc)
3. Diversify cognitive approaches (mix digital, physical)
@chelscore The Zuppa Toscana soup (at Olive Garden) is my favorite! I also like the Cheddar Bay biscuits at Red Lobster. I’ve tried making both at home and it turns out good but not the same.
