शहर का औसत AQI 155 — जबकि WHO मानक AQI 25 है, जो PM2.5 के 15 μg/m³ के बराबर है।

• शहर AQI 155 — ‘मध्यम’ (population weighted 157)
• सबसे ख़राब: Wazirpur — मौस�� हटाने पर AQI 130 (PM10 का इलाक़ा)

सरकार से माँग — PM2.5 के स्रोतों पर तुरंत कार्रवाई; Wazirpur जैसे इलाक़ों में स्थानीय क��म; हर स्टेशन का real-time AQI और जवाबदेही।

साँस लेना मौलिक अधिकार है — सुविधा नहीं।

रोज़ की वीडियो के पीछे की मशीन

हर दिन आप मेरी ओर से दिल्ली की हवा पर एक वीडियो देखते हैं। यह 2 मिनट की फ़िल्म वह मशीन दिखाती है जो उस वीडियो को बनाती है — एक ऐसा automatic सिस्टम, जिसे मैंने और मेरी टीम ने बनाया है। यह data से लेकर broadcast तक ख़ुद चलता है, और इसमें इंसानी फ़ैसला सिर्फ़ एक है: मेरा approval।

यह हर द��न क्या करता है:

सुबह 9 बजे — एक research task अपने आप जागता है। दिन के वैज्ञानिक प्रमाण जुटाता है और शाम की फ़िल्म का design तय करता है।

सुबह 10:30 बजे — production ��ुरू। कोई बटन नहीं दबाता।

Data — दिल्ली के हर CPCB monitoring station से हर घंटे की reading। quality की शर्त: किसी station का दिन तभी गिना जाता है जब 24 में से कम-से-कम 16 घंटे की सही readings हों।

De-weathering — सिस्टम का दिल। Machine learning models — जो सालों के hourly data पर trained हैं — हवा, बारिश, तापमान और atmospheric mixing का असर गणित से हटा देते हैं। जो बचता है, वही है दिल्ली का अपना प्रदूषण — मौसम का खेल नहीं। और चूँकि हर statistical model में कुछ uncertainty होती है, हम अपने model को उन दिनों पर परखते हैं जो उसने कभी देखे नहीं (out-of-sample validation), और हमेशा range — confidence interval — बताते हैं, झूठी precision कभी नहीं। पिछले साल से तुलना उन्हीं तारीख़ों के ±7 दिनों से, और सिर्फ़ matched stations से होती है — ताकि कोई एक अजीब दिन "normal" तय न कर दे।

Coverage gate — एक machine जाँच, ताकि कुछ छिपाया न जा सके: रिपोर्ट की हर नकारात्मक बात narration तक पहुँचनी ही चाहिए। एक भी छूटे, तो सिस्टम आगे बढ़ने से मना कर देता है।

Daily report — पूरा statistical evidence base, सबसे पहले तैयार होता है।

Adversarial peer review — कोई भी बात सार्वजनिक होने से पहले 6 विशेषज्ञ AI reviewers उसे परखते हैं: statistician, meteorologist, atmospheric chemist, exposure scientist, narrative editor और political red team। हर दावे के पक्ष में बहस, विरोध में बहस, और फिर फ़ैसला — विज्ञान की परख ऐसे ही होनी चाहिए।

Narration और फ़िल्म — जो जाँच में टिकता है, वही बोला जाता है। हर दिन नए सिरे से लिखा जाता है, और broadcast स्तर पर बनता है — हर बोले गए शब्द के साथ visuals की सटीक timing।

Human gate — फिर मशीन रुक जाती है, और इंतज़ार करती है। मेरी मंज़ूरी के बिना कुछ भी publish नहीं होता।

Publish — X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp। और अगली सुबह, यह सब फिर शुरू।

यह पूरा loop Fable 5 — Anthropic के सबसे नए Claude model — से बनाया गया है, जिसे मैं और मेरी टीम रोज़ इस्तेमाल करते हैं। Technology, जवाबदेही की सेवा में।

THE MACHINE BEHIND THE DAILY

Every day you see a Delhi air-quality video from me. This 2-minute film shows the machine that makes it — an autonomous system my team and I have built, which runs itself from raw data to broadcast, with exactly one human decision inside it: mine.

What it does, every single day:

9:00 AM — a research task wakes up on its own. It gathers the day's scientific evidence and designs the visual language for the evening's film.

10:30 AM — the production run begins. No one presses a button.

Data — hourly readings from every CPCB pollution-monitoring station in Delhi, quality-checked (a station-day must have at least 16 of 24 valid hourly readings to count).

De-weathering — the heart of the system. Machine-learning models, trained on years of hourly data, mathematically strip out the effect of wind, rain, temperature and atmospheric mixing. What remains is Delhi's own pollution — not the weather's mood. And because every statistical model carries uncertainty, we test ours on days it has never seen (out-of-sample validation) and always quote ranges — confidence intervals — never false precision. Comparisons with last year use the same dates ±7 days and only matched stations, so no single freak day defines "normal".

The coverage gate — a machine check that nothing can be hidden: every negative finding in the day's report MUST reach the narration. If even one is missing, the system refuses to continue.

The daily report — the full statistical evidence base, built and delivered first.

Adversarial peer review — before a single word goes public, six specialist AI reviewers examine the draft: a statistician, a meteorologist, an atmospheric chemist, an exposure scientist, a narrative editor and a political red team. Every claim is argued for, argued against, and adjudicated — the way science is meant to be tested.

The narration and the film — only what survives review is spoken, written fresh every day, and rendered to broadcast standard with the visuals synced to every spoken word.

The human gate — then the machine stops, and waits. Nothing is published until I personally approve it.

Publish — X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp. And the next morning, it all begins again.

This entire loop has been engineered with Fable 5 — Anthropic's newest Claude model — which my team and I use every day. Technology in the service of accountability.

Delhi's air deserves scrutiny that never sleeps.
