This morning, I asked President Trump if he’s okay with the Iranians charging a toll for all ships that go through the Strait of Hormuz, he told me there may be a Joint US-Iran venture to charge tolls:

“We’re thinking of doing it as a joint venture. It’s a way of securing it — also securing it from lots of other people.”

In the ongoing culture war, the most vulnerable members of society--our children--are on the frontlines.

Whether it's porn in their libraries, sexually charged performances in a neighborhood restaurant, or sexually oriented devices on the shelves of the family friendly market, children are increasingly confronted with sexually provocative content in public spaces designated for their use.

This is not a passive cultural shift, but rather part of a coordinated effort to normalize the sexualization of children.

The state has a compelling interest to protect children from sexualization, as it leads to their exploitation and is critical to both their safety and natural development.

This includes safeguarding the community spaces designated for their use.

Pornographic materials do not belong in libraries. Sexually oriented performances do not belong in front of children. Sex toys have no place on the shelves of family-friendly markets.

These are simple, common sense principles that align with the fundamental goal of protecting children.

I applaud Representative-Elect Hillary Hickland for filing HB 1549, which will ensure that obscene devices are no longer sold or displayed in public retail establishments commonly frequented by families and children.
