Interested in learning introductory linear algebra? I am teaching a free four-part series on EdX. Lecture slides for the entire first course are linked below. #linearalgebra#mooc#maths
My four-part linear algebra series on EdX went live this week. First course already has over 1000 students enrolled! Series could be a resource for anyone taking courses that require linear algebra or who needs a refresher. #mooc#onlinelearning#linearalgebra
Message me if you have any questions. Audit track is free. Courses are approachable to anyone who would have completed an integral calculus course (eg - AP Calculus BC).
Moving Horizontally, a new collected volume edited by @YakutGazi@nelson_baker includes a chapter from C21U's @jjonnalee@mlisle & @GTProfEd's Troy Courville - "Adapting Vertically-Scaled Solutions Across Many Georgia Tech Classes." To download the book: https://t.co/EWBtQANoby
Around 6,400 people signed up to take just the first course in the free four-part #linearalgebra series on EdX I was teaching. They wrapped up last weekend. It was wonderful to interact with people from all over the world who wanted to learn. #thankyou#OpenEducation
Georgia Tech is one of 38 institutions in the nation to be named a Bicycle Friendly University by the League of American Bicyclists. The @BikeLeague award is designated every four years and Tech received Gold Level distinction. | https://t.co/vvC40I2zgg
@mathflipped@mathyawp Awesome! We also give our linear algebra students computational exercises. We use MATLAB/OCTAVE. It's a nice way to let students explore some applications of linear algebra in ways that are too difficult to do with hand calculations.
Great to see that interest from Atlanta Public School students to attend GT has increased "dramatically over the last three years, with first-year applications from the system increasing by 68%".
