@Jaimie_BW@ColdwellTim@ChandosLTD Hi Jamie, this seems the same as the IPI process and contract we developed under Innovate UK and has now been used on three award-winning contracts
@Deepa60650354@BldgSafetyReg@team_greenhalgh I was told on Friday, this is now a requirement under the new Part L ie photos have to be recorded of each m&e asset.
This work has probably been done by a sub, sub-contractor. A main contractor told me the photos can help change culture and 'keep them honest'
@Deepa60650354@BldgSafetyReg@team_greenhalgh Some contractors on our projects require installers to take photos of the finished install. Aside from the record it improves the quality.
@SuButcher Absolutely Su
How many firms are signing up to EIRs without ensuring their staff have the training, expertise and tools to deliver - and then checking they have delivered
@bondbryanBIM #CIHLexicon#Lexicon are building on what has already been achieved and bringing together the good works that has been done by different teams and investing in creating something we can all use. If
@bondbryanBIM I would recommend you check out what CIH is planning to do with Lexicon before you condemn it to fail. At the launch yesterday, the main message was for people from across the industry, both creators and consumers of product information to join the groups to shape the content
Quality asset information is critical to Digital Twins but we need to find better ways to interface with that - people, process, technology and Reliable DATA!
@ralph_arcdox@for59j54 Perhaps a better way to get clients to engage is to explain that they should have an asset information model for their whole portfolio (as per ISO 55000) into which this Project will fit when it is handed over. Their clearly defined AIR will help the PIM deliver what they need
@LewisWenman Good stuff Lewis - and I endorse your point about learning onsite about the practical effect of your coordination modelling.
I suspect those two years your spent at RRP and Heathrow in the 1990's provided a great grounding
@GliderBIM@_johnegan@m_bolpagni@for59j54@JMunkley1986 @cornhenge I agree the software exchange should be automated and not manual but @activeplan we do that using the COBie schema - two-way (or duplex to stretch the communications metaphor :)
Suggesting the only way to deliver data via COBie schema is by spreadsheet will add to confusion.
@for59j54@m_bolpagni@JMunkley1986 @cornhenge COBie provides the information exchange schema that allows information to flow back from the CAFM applications into the AIM.
What Marzia is (rightly) pressing for - how are operations teams using the data they are delivered and how are changes fed back - critical for Hackitt
@for59j54@m_bolpagni@JMunkley1986 @cornhenge John, when you say "its just an asset register", some people less knowledgeable than you might think you mean it is just a list of assets when, as we both know, the COBie schema holds much more than that - spaces, coordinates, types, instances, assemblies, systems & attributes
@m_bolpagni @AndyBoutle @bondbryanBIM @for59j54@JMunkley1986 @cornhenge At @activeplan we use the COBie data model to federate all the COBie files, validate them and ensure there is a complete Asset Information Model from which we can populate the data import templates for Maximo, Concept, Qube Planet, Planon and Manhattan.
@m_bolpagni @AndyBoutle @bondbryanBIM @for59j54@JMunkley1986 @cornhenge A one-way data transfer of asset schedules into a CAFM application does not satisfy the need. I have reviewed dozens of implementations and most are simply used to generate PPM work instructions - no digital O&M to inform replacement due to helpdesk or lifecycle planning
