@Oceanbreeze473 The one in the clip was one of the newer ones... the older ones had pull handles. Put the coins in, pull the handle at the bottom and it came out. They were in every restaurant waiting area, hotel lobbies, and like the pic, always next to a potted plant.
@airmainengineer My dad told me that the electronics in one of the birds he flew were cooled by cabin air and they got really nasty with brown sludge. Ground techs hated working on that gear.
Loyalty to a company has been pretty dead in the US for a while, but this is next level. You're expendable and we don't care. At some point finding good employees for the things that people still need to do is going to be nearly impossible. Those that take the jobs, probably aren't trustworthy.
@Simon_Ingari Left a job because of similar... Was told I was getting a pay increase, but when I got the official letter with the amount, it was substantially less. When they asked my manager why I left, he simply said, you promised him a number and didn't deliver, what did you expect?
@folaoftech I spent a chunk of change building a high-end dev rig about 2yrs ago. Spent around 5k... I could part it out and probably get nearly 7,500 for the pieces today. The GPU alone was 1700 when I bought it and shows for almost 5k on eBay today. Never knew PCs were an investment
@RhondaK72605@weathernerdga@NWSAtlanta Here in Flowery Branch, it was almost all sleet, and only short periods of liquid. Didn't try to measure it, but it was just a bare glazing. GA Pwr outage map showed a distinct lack of outages in Hall Co, but many south and north of us.
@Matt_Pinner If it's a good restaurant with a competent chef and quality meat, here's the scale with translations:
Raw = a tad undercooked
Rare = about perfect
Medium Rare = almost overcooked
Medium = burnt
Medium Well = extra crispy
Well Done = just bring a piece of charcoal
@davepl1968@NTGKerwas You needed a fast enough controller card to get 1:1. My first controller was a WD1003 card and it couldn’t handle that. Upgraded to a WD1006 and it could. Had a ST251-1 and a ST4096 drive hung off it.
