Why Battleships? The game perfectly demonstrates the use of the technology and instils a sense of 'Fog of War' where there is no way to exploit blockchain data to determine where your opponents ship locations are. However, when your ship is hit, the information is released and confirmed, in this case revealing to your opponent: "You correctly hit my ship"

On August 30, the ICL team held one of their forge-side chats, where they sat down with the community to discuss recent and upcoming developments 🛳️

This particular chat was especially interesting as it was centered on $iUSD growth and the future of $ICL

Key Takeaways 📑

The team plans to emphasize incentives, with a stronger focus on staking into liquidity pools for both $ICL and $iUSD - prioritising $ICL holding chads over mercenary farmers 🤝

As $iUSD generates revenue for the protocol, the spotlight is increasingly towards its growth, onboarding funds and users - it is @modenetwork's native stablecoin. More revenue means higher cuts for stakers, leading to better yields and value accrual for $ICL 📈

There was also discussion around creating more educational and "how-to" content to expand user knowledge and awareness of the platform. $iUSD currently offers higher and more sustainable yields than any other stablecoin within the $MODE ecosystem, everyone should and will be using it 

The team also acknowledged that the staking pool remains weighted towards $ICL - the protocol's advanced tokenomics, buybacks and staking yields can flywheel very strongly, the so called 'price go up' technology 👨‍💻

The Alpha Segment | 👁️

While not yet confirmed, there's a high probability we'll see Ironclad follow Mode's footsteps and expand within the Superchain - any guesses? 🔵

As they put it, "It gets farmed to hell". With strong APYs, users are likely to buy into it for farming opportunities, which would, in turn, boost LPs. This is even more plausible as the $ICL team holds positions in Arrow, reducing the cost of payout incentives

@betmode, a gaming protocol on $MODE, is exploring the integration of $iUSD as a bankroll asset for blockchain degen gambling 🎰

EVM Encryption and hyper-scaling on Ethereum 🧠

How does one measure confidentiality or privacy on the internet and blockchain? And what tools are being utilized to exploit privacy gaps within these areas?

Enter AI

The rise of AI allows hyper-efficient blockchain reading to trace and follow a person's digital footprint from the point of FIAT input, all the way through to a DEX and back to the point of cash-out. Blockchain is fundamentally built to be transparent, as we all know. This is also true for Web2 with the use of IPs and cookies. While humans have historically been required to connect these dots manually, AI has the ability to do this in a fraction of the time and with minimal effort.

If you can exploit this, you can quickly take advantage of things such as Maximum Extractable Value (MEV) information for profit. We discuss what MEV is in more detail in our previous Ten Protocol tweet: https://t.co/lwnhKrqyCd

The Solution

Ten Protocol leverages Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) to combat bad actors who attempt to exploit MEV information. A TEE is simply an encrypted area known to maintain integrity and confidentiality. An easy way to think of this is in the context of a blind auction for an NFT: Once someone places a bid, someone with the ability to exploit MEV could view the bid and offer $0.01 more to win. However, by employing TEE, that information is protected and cannot be exploited.

How do we verify TEE Integrity? 🕵️

TEE is the secure area of a CPU that guarantees its own code and data are protected as they are processed. This is a feature found within the processor itself (e.g., Intel's SGX). It utilizes the device's root keys (RPK) and (RSK), which are used to prove a CPU is genuine via remote attestation and are only known to the manufacturer (in this case, Intel). Using SGX attestation verifies the integrity of the hardware TEE. This is the process Ten Protocol leverages to encrypt your information while running on top of $ETH.

What this means for you

Use cases are as endless as the exploits for leveraging MEV are. Some examples include:

- Institutional use such as banking
- Private AI agents, modeling, and machine economy microtransactions
- Gaming – preventing exploits in code (such as Fog of War hacking)
- Sealed auctions
- Dark pool trading to prevent public exposure
- Private DeFi – prevention of liquidity hunting

An Easy Comparison

A lot of the above becomes very technical very quickly. The easiest comparison is to think of Ten Protocol on Ethereum as what HTTPS is to Web2.
