Greg MacEachern: If [Pierre Poilievre] is blaming the prime minister for what he says is a "full-blown" recession, is he also going to give him credit for the 88k jobs? Highly doubtful.
Fred DeLorey: It's problematic when you choose to go down that road that Poilievre has chosen to go down so aggressively, almost like he's rooting for a recession. I'm a tribal conservative. I want to win the next election ... screaming that the sky is falling every week is not how you do it.
Yesterday, we launched Canada’s new AI strategy.
Now, we want to hear from you. What are you curious about? What would you like to know more about?
Drop your questions in the comments and we’ll gather them for a future video. Looking forward to continuing the conversation.
Here's a thought exercise: Name a political leader who would be as good at being a central banker as this central banker has turned out to be at being a political leader.
Very proud to launch Sovereign by Design, a new report I co-authored with Jaxson Khan at U of T's Munk School. At ~80 pages, it's the most comprehensive treatment of AI sovereignty in Canada to date.

Karoline Leavitt doesn’t rule out a draft.
How about the answer is NO DRAFT AND NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND because we campaigned on NO MORE FOREIGN WARS OR REGIME CHANGE!!!
Liars every single one of them!
Not my son, over my dead body!!!!!
You occasionally get a moment that symbolizes everything wrong with this country. In this case it's a U.S. Marine veteran screaming out that no one wants to fight for Israel and a U.S. Senator breaking his arm. A perfect encapsulation of US foreign policy.
We said “No More Foreign Wars, No More Regime Change!” We said it on rally stage after rally stage, speech after speech. Trump, Vance, basically the entire admin campaigned on it and promised to put America FIRST and Make America Great Again.
My generation has been let down, abused, and used by our government our entire adult lives and our children’s generation is literally being abandoned.
Thousands and thousands of Americans from my generation have been killed and injured in never ending pointless foreign wars and we said no more. But we are freeing the Iranian people.
Please.
There are 93 million people in Iran, let them liberate themselves. But Iran is on the verge of having nuclear weapons.
Yeah sure.
We have been spoon fed that line for decades and Trump told us all that his bombing this past summer completely wiped it all out.
It’s always a lie and it’s always America Last. But it feels like the worst betrayal this time because it comes from the very man and the admin who we all believed was different and said no more.
We thought the victory won in 2024 would be finally time to put America First.
And we thought that meant the common American man and woman and their children.
Not the elites.
America has suffered and they don’t even care.
Hundreds of thousands of American small business owners lost their hard earned businesses during tyrannical covid lockdowns, that by the way, started under Trump with 15 days to slow the spread and continued under Biden and Democrats. There is no difference between them.
Vaccine injuries, deaths, delays and loss in our tax payer funded education, record high suicides, record high Big Pharma profits and ZERO accountability for anyone from the MAGA America First administration as they run off to start wars and the board of peace at the same time.
Create the crisis and the solution simultaneously and then build condos to profit. MAGA!
For years we demanded to release the Epstein files, demanding transparency and justice for thousands of victims, women and children, by the richest most powerful men in the world and we had to fight Trump himself to do it, even after we all campaigned on it. And not a single person has been arrested and likely won’t be, no accountability, no justice.
Instead, we get a war with Iran on behalf of Israel that will succeed in regime in Iran.
Another foreign war for foreign people for foreign regime change.
For what?
Does it lower our inflation that our government caused? Caused by BOTH Democrats AND Republicans with their decades of corrupt government spending that has enslaved us all in nearly $40 Trillion in debt and reduced the value of our dollar to nothing. No, war with Iran does not lower inflation and make cost of living affordable.
Does war with Iran fix our healthcare system and make health insurance affordable for Americans??
No war with Iran does not do that and the MAGA admin and Republicans aren’t even working on it in any serious way at all.
Does war with Iran stop AI from replacing your job? Nope.
Does war with Iran help you to be able to afford to buy a home? No, but you’ll see TikTok videos of nice penthouses when Gaza is rebuilt.
Does war with Iran help the mental health crisis in America or help the drug addiction pandemic in America? Nope.
Does war with Iran do anything to help American families stay together and survive? No, not at all.
But within hours of war with Iran it was reported approximately 40 innocent girls, school children, in Iran were killed by bombs from Israel.
And they don’t care, they killed thousands of innocent children in Gaza, and apparently our Pro-Peace administration doesn’t care either.
And, since they won’t solve America’s problems clearly they don’t care about our kids either.
Now, America is going to be force fed and gas lighted all the “noble” reasons the American “Peace” President and Pro-Peace administration had to go to war once again this year, after being in power for only a year.
Head-spinning, but maga.
BREAKING: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney blindsides Trump by forming a super alliance of 40 powerful countries to defeat his disastrous MAGA agenda.
Carney has become one of Trump's most brilliant adversaries...
According to Politico, the European Union, composed of 27 nations, as well as a geopolitical bloc of 12 Indo-Pacific countries, have begun negotiations to form one of the largest economic alliances in the entire world. This historic pivot comes as Trump continues to wage erratic tariff wars on close allies, turning the once-stable United States into a deeply unreliable partner.
The talks are being led by Canada and will be the fruit of Carney's vision of a world in which the so-called "middle powers" unite to undermine Trump's tariffs and make themselves immune to his bullying coercion.
If successful — and it certainly appears to be heading in that direction — the supply chains of countries as far off as Canada, Malaysia, and Germany could be intwined into one super supply chain.
“The work is definitely coming along,” a Canadian government official said to POLITICO. “We’ve had very fruitful discussions on it with other partners around the world.”
“We see a lot of value in increasing trade among the EU and [Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership] parties, which would also contribute to enhancing supply chain resilience,” stated a Japanese trade official.
Last month, Carney gave an astonishing speech at the Davos World Economic Forum during which he announced the end of American dominance, stating that the "bargain no longer" works for the rest of the world. American hegemony once offered benefits, now it offers only chaos.
"Let me be direct, we are in the midst of a rupture not a transition," Carney said during that speech. "Over the past two decades a series of crises in finance, health, energy, and geopolitics have laid the bare risks of extreme global integration."
"But more recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as weapons," he said, referring to Trump. "Tariffs as leverage. Financial infrastructures as coercion. Supply chains as vulnerabilities to be exploited. You cannot live within the lie of mutual benefit through integration when integration becomes the source of your subordination."
He predicted that allied nations would "diversify to hedge against uncertainty" and "rebuild sovereignty" and that's exactly what's happening with this nascent trade alliance. Carney said that the deal will "create a new trading bloc of 1.5 billion people."
Left out in the cold would be the American people, who will be forced to stand by as the citizens of other nations enjoy easier, cheaper access to reliable goods. Trump has made us a world pariah, and the price will be shouldered by your wallet.
“We hope that if that’s a success, if you can see tangible benefits in different areas, that could also entice other countries to join in and team up in a positive sense,” said Klemens Kober, the Director of Trade Policy, EU Customs, Transatlantic Relations at the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce.
“So the more the merrier," Kober added.
This is what happens when you elect an ignorant conman and give him unilateral power over foreign policy. Trump and his MAGA sycophants thought that the rest of the world would simply roll over as America proceeded to pillaged and ransack their coffers. Instead, they'e banding together to completely shatter the balance of power forever.
Please ❤️ and share if you think that Trump is the worst president in American history!

@Sid_Seixeiro I hate when a player scores a goal and runs to the bench for gratitude every time. That's what they're paid to do, score goals. Every team and every player does it.
Statement from MP Michael Ma
Today, the Liberal Party issued the following statement from Michael Ma, Member of Parliament for Markham–Unionville:
"After listening carefully to the people of Markham–Unionville in recent weeks and reflecting with my family on the direction of our country, I have informed the Speaker and the Leader of the Opposition that I will be joining Prime Minister Mark Carney in the government caucus.
"This is a time for unity and decisive action for Canada’s future.
"I came to Canada at twelve years old as the youngest of seven, quickly learning the importance of hard work and resilience. Those values — building up others, delivering results, and choosing a path that creates opportunity — have guided me throughout my career in business and now as a Member of Parliament.
"In that spirit, I have concluded that Prime Minister Mark Carney is offering the steady, practical approach we need to deliver on the priorities I hear every day while door knocking in Markham–Unionville. That includes making life more affordable, growing a strong Canadian economy, strengthening community safety, and creating real opportunities for young people and families who are working hard to build their Canadian dream.
"I entered public service to help people — to focus on solutions, not division. I look forward to working with Prime Minister Carney to make sure that Markham–Unionville, and all of Canada, can move forward with confidence and build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous future."
