GuardMyPi version 1.0 is now live! After many hours on zoom (and coffee) the team have finalised the source code that can turn any Raspberry Pi and Camera into a robust security system!

With less than a week left of the project and course, we have now published our pre-release 0.1 of Guard My Pi and can be found here: 🥳

Everything you can expect from this code can be seen in our demo video posted previously. Happy coding 😃!
Long 08.30->18.15 sprint today! The team has integrated the code to allow for: email sending of intruder alerts via Apache2 and smtp, pet detection using HaarCascades and we've implemented a new Sign In and Sign Up feature via Firebase to GuardMyPi's website. More coming soon!
We have nearly completed integrating our (soon to be published) code! The video below highlights some aspects of what the team has been working on for the past 10 weeks, coming together nicely; Motion Detection, Facial Recognition, QR code recognition and webcam casting!

Another method to unlock our system and has been tested is hand detection! Again, using HAAR cascades hands are detected in-frame and can be implemented to unlock the system. This also applies for any gesture you can think of!
While its has been tricky to refine, there has been a lot of progress using facial recognition as one of the methods to unlock the device when entering the premises. Using HAAR cascades for face detection and a trained Fisher Face algorithm. Here is our latest test run!
Over the past few weeks we have been learning react.js and writing out loooooong lists of css styling to bring out our new GuardMyPi website! Check it out at https://t.co/8z2NemvOMn and let us know what you think! We will be implementing register and sign in features very soon...
A glimpse of our human detection software in action! Using "You Only Look Once" (YOLO) pre-trained object detection models, we are able to detect when a human has entered the frame from a variety of distances and angles.

Meet Aidan, our Hardware Lead illuminated by our new IR-LED array!
After meeting with our clients we took on board the challenge to augment the range of the Pi NoIR camera via an array of infrared LED's, this is the result, facial features captured, in complete darkness.
