O novo 'fungo zumbi' brasileiro 🕷️🧟🔬

A descoberta foi feita por um grupo de cientistas que fazia uma expedição na Mata Atlântica de Nova Friburgo, no Rio de Janeiro.

Batizada de Purpureocillium atlanticum, a nova espécie foi eleita pelo jardim botânico londrino Kew Gardens como uma das 10 mais importantes descobertas em 2025.

"É um modo de vida incrível. Eles são fotogênicos, são lindos — pelo menos pelos meus olhos", diz o brasileiro João Araújo, professor da Universidade de Copenhague que atuou na descrição da espécie.
