One of the unsung features of running is it’s actually very easy to do.
Not in the physical sense - running is hard.
But the mental overhead to go run is actually quite small compared to programming a quality workout in the gym.
If you’re depressed, in a rut, lacking motivation — you might not have the energy to do all that.
But you can lace up and get out for a run.
Make nutrition a superpower.
I attribute a lot of my ability to improve quickly (4:51 mile in 2024 → 4:22 in 2025) to being intentional with nutrition when the goal demands it.
Snippet of a week of macros (excluding today).
Currently 180 lbs at 6’2 (~81.6 kg) with the goal of getting as close as possible to 4:00 in the mile.
The biggest thing is assessing trends.
Look at weekly averages.
Match intake to workload.
Zoom out instead of obsessing over one day.
It’s not about perfection. It’s about fueling relative to demand. Wednesday was higher calories because it was an 18 mile (29 km) double threshold day.
I genuinely dislike the body image obsession in the fitness/running space circulating again.
Even though I post my physique, it means very little in terms of real-world performance WITHOUT CONTEXT and it definitely shouldn’t dictate how anyone feels about their own journey.
And more broadly, food shouldn’t be viewed as “good” or “bad.” It’s input. It’s energy. It’s recovery. It’s social. It’s cultural.
The relationship we build with it matters just as much as the macros.
Nutrition is a tool. Treat it that way.
Whatever Apple TV is doing with its shows…... I’m here for it. It feels like television made by people who actually respect the audience’s intelligence. Good TV, real good TV.
Mejor si eres alto o llevas capas gruesas.
Diferencias que cambian el uso
Largo: Bedale más corto → ciudad.
Beaufort más largo → protección total.
Puños: punto (elegante) vs velcro (práctico).
Bolsillo caza: Beaufort sí → utilidad brutal.
Bedale no → líneas puras.
