I read his wish as her loving him more than she loved *anyone else* in the world. Wasn’t about anyone else loving him, he didn’t care about that, he wanted her to love him.

Her obsession was with him, not with loving him more than someone else loved him.

I really like this theory because it doesn't change the rules of the wish,it just makes you think about the whole occurrence differently.

Sarah was not the problem, but if Nikki had to love Bear more than anyone else, then every person who genuinely loved him would've forced the curse to push Nikki's obsession even further. That's a pretty dark implication.

Having just recently seen The Babadook for the first time I can safely say that Insidious and The Conjuring are largely responsible for the massive turn in horror. Both of which James Wan had a major hand in developing billion dollar franchises.
