George Brett of the #Royals stole the 200th base of his career #OTD in 1993 during a 5-4 win over the #RedSox. Brett was one of just three players at that point to reach 3,000 hits, 300 homers, and 200 steals, the others being Henry Aaron and Willie Mays.
George Brett was still hitting .400 after September 19, 1980.
No AL or NL hitter has carried a .400 average that deep into a season since Ted Williams in 1941.
Brett finished at .390 and took home MVP.
