The fact that LLMs can make us feel as though they are intelligent, despite having an architecture very different from that of the human brain, makes me wonder whether there may be many paths to intelligence. Perhaps all roads lead to intelligence.
@googlegemma Thank you for your dedication and excellent work in democratizing AI. A user question: could Gemma eventually query a dedicated “knowledge model” through LLM-native communication, rather than human-style search queries, so local LLMs can better compete with large hosted models?
@NASAVoyager I really wish I had been part of the team that created the Voyagers. The mission cost less than $5 billion in today’s dollars. If I were rich enough, I would fund another one. It would be a much better use of money than a private jet or a superyacht.
I learned about @NASAVoyager when I was about 10, from old kids’ science magazines published around 1980—either 我们爱科学 or 少年科学画报. I recently watched the BBC documentary The Farthest: Voyager’s Interstellar Journey, and all the excitement I felt in childhood came back.
@NASAVoyager It starts with curiosity, is created through innovation, and is executed with precision. Throughout everything, there is togetherness, love, and hope. This mission is a demonstration of the best of humankind.
Most Kalman filter explanations make it look scary.
I think the cleanest intuition is much simpler:
it is just uncertainty-weighted fusion.
One sensor.
Two sensors.
Then one real sensor + one virtual sensor.
And the whole thing clicks.

We are often driven by secondhand signals: the crowd or the authority. We aren't responding to the world; we are just amplifying others' choices. To make real contributions, you must sense reality firsthand and take the risk to act on your own judgment.
In the 20th century, we invented airplanes, mass-produced cars, and developed the telephone, radio, television, washing machine, microwave, computer, nuclear power, and satellites.
I think part of the reason is that much of human creativity has shifted into the software world rather than the physical world. Now, as AI begins to replace coding work, it feels like it is correcting a deviation and redirecting engineering creativity back to the real world.
Congratulations! You did it right. In 100 years, some of your products will be highly sought-after collectibles. Even just for that, I’ll buy one if I can afford it.
