Israel is deliberately starving Gazan babies to death.

An American doctor heading to Gaza for a medical mission had cans of powdered baby formula confiscated by Israeli security at the Allenby Bridge crossing. This is one of several such cases. In others, doctors are barred from bringing any surgical supplies.

Diana Nazzal, the Palestinian-German ophthalmic surgeon coordinating aid convoys, said bluntly, “What other explanation is there, if it’s not that hunger is being used as a weapon of war in the ongoing genocide in Gaza?” British orthopedic surgeon Graeme Groom described the scene: “I saw babies who were just skin and bones.”

Despite official claims from COGAT, the Israeli military body managing aid entry, that over 1,000 metric tons of baby food have been allowed since May, frontline doctors paint a far grimmer picture. Dr. Ahmad al-Farra, head of pediatrics at Nasser Hospital, warned that stocks of specialized formula for premature infants were “on the verge of depletion.” The World Health Organization and UNICEF report thousands of children admitted with acute malnutrition—a crisis unseen in Gaza before the war.

The consequences are deadly. Since March, about 50 children have died of hunger and malnutrition in Gaza. Many mothers, themselves malnourished, cannot breastfeed, forcing infants to depend on scarce formula. The blockade and restrictions on aid amount to a slow, deliberate siege targeting Gaza’s youngest and most vulnerable.

This is not just a humanitarian crisis—it is an assault on the very survival of a people.
