The Economist had a short window to interview the guy who’s arguably advancing human capabilities more than any other single individual in many generations. So of course they spent it lecturing him for holding the ‘wrong’ political views, and telling him people ‘loathe’ him, because he refuses to accept their deeply ideological, midwit interpretation of reality and parrot groupthink as they do.

And they think this is all a big ‘win’ for them.

So embarrassing.

No other group of people on Earth would allow their forebears to be insulted like this.

🇬🇧 They stood alone against the Nazis.

🇬🇧 They invented and built the modern world with technology and medicine that started to defeat death and disease.

🇬🇧 They invented economics and democracy as we know it.

My ancestors were great people. Without them, the world would be an immeasurably darker, more wicked place.

Never again let entitled actors who known nothing about anything browbeat you into feeling shame for your ancestors.

Britain, and Western civilisation, are the greatest expressions of human flourishing in the history of the world.

Be proud of the ancestors who fought and toiled and sacrificed for that.

Don’t ever be ashamed of the greatness of our inheritance.

Live up to it.

If we’re still using oil and gas (which we are) importing it instead of producing it at home doesn’t change the climate impact.

It does change who gets the jobs, who gets the tax revenues to fund our public services and who controls our energy security and national resilience. This is absolutely the right call.
