Throughout its long history, the BBC Video idents simultaneously made me feel cosy while giving me the willies. There's a cold, sterile bleakness to them. Pure hauntology.
Top-notch Reform UK selections at work again. 🤦♂️
Can you imagine the utter chaos if they somehow managed to win a General Election?
We'd be bankrupt and at war with Luxembourg within six weeks.
Check out this brilliant #Uncanny graphic novel artwork by listener Adam! I’m sure @ciaranokeeffe will be glad to see mould making the cut alongside ghosts and UFOs 👻🛸🦠
Thanks for sharing, Adam 😀
I came across Hockney once. I was in a lift at the Royal College of Art. He & the college bigwigs got in to go to the Senior Common Room at the top. The lift stopped at my floor but I couldn't get off. I said excuse me, but they were all so in thrall they just ignored me. Went to the top & came down again.
@reformexposed Farage is just in it for the money, Yax also. Lowe is different, he has a fantasy that Britain can be "reset" to some mythical Golden Age from the past. What's gone is gone. Someone needs to tell him that Curly-Wurlys will never be battleship-sized again.
🚨 As the world celebrates the World Cup, Israel is heavily bombing Gaza‼️
Two worlds, one moment.
One celebrates.
The other buries its victims.

Shameless adolescent self-interested liar and disinformation superspreader, Richard Tice, has falsely claimed: “There’s no evidence that man-made CO₂ is going to change climate change” and Britain should simply “adapt to it.”
There is overwhelming, globally accepted evidence that man-made carbon dioxide (CO₂) is the primary driver of current climate change. The scientific consensus is virtually unanimous.
For voters in Essex and Kent, where millions of homes now face heightened risks of subsidence and sinking foundations from hotter, drier weather driven by climate change, Reform UK’s climate scepticism is a direct threat to their properties, insurance costs, and long-term security.
The British Geological Survey’s analysis is stark: hotter, drier summers are already shrinking the ground beneath houses, dragging foundations down. In 2025 alone, subsidence triggered £153 million in insurance claims in the first six months. By 2070, under a medium emissions scenario close to current global trajectories, more than 1.8 million properties nationwide could be affected, with over 26% of homes in London and major exposure across Essex and Kent.
Under a low-emissions Paris-aligned path, that drops dramatically to around 500,000. Scientists warn this is a “double whammy” for the region: dense housing plus the biggest projected changes in rainfall and temperature.
Many properties already show diagonal cracks, sloping floors, and plummeting values; lenders often refuse mortgages until costly underpinning or stabilisation work is done.
The UK is “built for a climate that no longer exists” and needs urgent mitigation to protect homes and communities. Yet Reform UK’s leaders reject the science and climate action.
In counties on the front line of these escalating risks, electing leaders who deny the problem and block mitigation leaves their homes, insurance premiums, and future bills far more exposed.
The science is clear: failing to act now dramatically worsens the outlook for the very properties Essex and Kent families rely on. Prioritising short-term rhetoric over these tangible, escalating threats is gambling with their voters’ most valuable asset, and their children’s futures.
Multimillionaire poshboys Tice and Farage do not give a solitary shit about their voters or their voter’s children - unless they’re giving them £MILLIONS or have fossil fuel interests. 🤑
Every phone call I've taken this week has broken my heart a little bit more.
So much unnecessary suffering.
Please spread this information, as far and wide as you can.
You may save a life.

A hedgehog *out in the open* in the day is in serious trouble and needs urgent help.
Always.
No exceptions.
Any size.
Any time.
Hedgehogs are nocturnal prey animals, they have no defences in the daytime, it's deadly dangerous for them.
They are designed to hunt at night, to navigate and catch insects in the dark, occupying a specific ecological niche.
They are not adapted to withstand high temperatures, and their shape means they rapidly dehydrate during daylight hours.
They are nocturnal animals.
So they don't come out in the day simply because they're hungry, or lost, or disturbed, or to move nests, or are pregnant, or for any other trivial reason.
They come out in the day because it's warmer than the night and they are feeling cold.
Deadly cold.
They're feeling cold because they're so sick they're starting to die, and hypothermia is a stage of dying. Blood has been redirected to the vital organs, keeping them alive as long as possible, leaving the limbs feeling cold.
If you see a hedgehog like this, out in the open, in the day time, no matter how 'well' he looks, it is an emergency.
Every minute counts.
DO NOT put them in a box and keep them, feeding them, not calling a rescue for advice for 3 days until their agony and infection is too much for them to bear and they stop moving.
DO NOT feed them then move them under a bush because you think they shouldn't be in the sun, leaving them, utterly defenceless, to be predated alive there.
DO NOT take them to a vet, none of whom are trained in wildlife and will simply put to sleep even viable wild animals.
Please take them to a rescue (never a vet) URGENTLY.
Just Google 'hedgehog rescue near me' to find a list.

Mark from Belfast just called it what it is on @BenKentish@LBC:
“30 women were murdered… not one road was closed, not one protest.
What was the connection? They were murdered by white locals.”
One stabbing by a Sudanese man and the whole place is engulfed with riots, fires, attacks on Whites, Black & Brown people across Belfast.
Years of local white men killing women nothing.
Undiluted racism. He is not the only local to have said this! Who is behind this violence? 👇 #BelfastRiots #CallItWhatItIs
