Cicero claimed that “if you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.” Out of sheer practicality I’d suggest attaching a house to them in some way, unless you can sleep, eat and wash in the library… https://t.co/5Bh4FXERON
@thameswater are unbelievable. I sent a meter reading, they replied with a bill showing I'm using 40% less water, so they snuck in a price hike of nearly 60%/month. No explanation why. And the best part? They do the same thing EVERY YEAR.
@EdwardJDavey once this is all over, and the time is right, can we immortalise our NHS workers with a mighty statue somewhere prominent? We have enough generals and colonialists glaring down at us from public spaces; let's have some brave everyday heroes to look up to. #NHSheroes
Jacob Rees-Mogg just said we can't have another referendum now that people know more about Brexit, because we'd vote to stop it.
@Femi_Sorry was *almost* speechless...
Hey Vote Leave leader @MichaelGove, remember in March you admitted there’s no mandate for No Deal cos nobody voted for it in the 2016 referendum? We thought we’d remind the country via a 7500sq/m sand installation on Redcar beach that can be seen from space. You’re welcome.
To those Brexiter “expats” who live in Spain and who refuse to learn a word of Spanish and yet complain about immigrants who don’t fully integrate when they move to Britain. Seriously people. Seriously. Have a word with yourselves - ideally in Spanish.
@ChrisLeslieMP @jeremycorbyn My Labour MP asked me and a room of his constituents if we supported PV - we all put our hands up. He abstained in tonight’s vote. Disgraceful.
A few months ago @SteveReedMP stood in front of me and a room packed with his constituents and asked us if we supported a second referendum. Everyone put their hand up. Tonight, he abstained in a vote for exactly that. He represents none of us. He should resign.
Gun violence is an emergency.
Climate change is an emergency.
Our country's opioid epidemic is an emergency.
Donald Trump's ridiculous wall is not an emergency.
Hey @sainsburys on the Purley Way, your petrol station air pump has been out of order for 3 weeks. Any chance you could fix it before the end of this decade, please? Ta.
My usual @SouthernRailUK train cancelled because of a fault. The next train cancelled because train crew couldn’t be bothered to turn up for work. Maybe I’ll do the same? Oh no, wait, I’d be fired. And rightly so. #southernfail
3 people smoking a crack pipe at the back of the @TfL 38 bus to Victoria, and neither the driver nor anyone else bats an eyelid, despite the naked flame and the toxic fumes. Lovely. #shitlondon#crackiswhack
The #PeoplesVoteMarch was genuinely cross-party
Large numbers of Labour voters attended. This backs up credible research showing that around four in five Labour members want a #FinalSay on #Brexit
So @jeremycorbyn , get off the fence!
Back a #PeoplesVote
I remember this contribution well in EU Parl. It was a time when many of us looked to British leadership and vision to help shape an optimistic and ambitious future TOGETHER for an enlarged EU. We need UK leadership again today to keep the EU and UK close post #Brexit
You spoke convincingly of your support for a People’s Vote at our residents meeting last week, @SteveReedMP - were you with us for the #peoplesVoteMarch today? Lots of people were decrying Labour for sitting on the fence so far. Take this march as a sign of changed opinions.
If >600,000 people are willing to spend their Saturday marching to demand a People’s Vote, how many more would be willing to take part in that vote? When the facts change, you change your mind; if you can’t change your mind and you won’t change the subject, you’re a fanatic.
