Particularly grateful for the leadership of the incomparable Amb. Frank Mora and for the many friends and partners who I have had the opportunity to work with on issues throughout our hemisphere. Looking forward to hitting the ground running alongside the outstanding SFRC team.
Some bittersweet professional news: today I leave the State Department to begin a new role as Senior Professional Staff Member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. It has been an extraordinary privilege to serve with so many brilliant public servants at State and beyond.
I was honored to speak with @OAS_official about promoting democracy in the Americas. I will continue to champion opportunities the U.S. has to work with our partners in the hemisphere in my role as Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere.
Today’s @ForeignPolicy LatAm Brief: the OAS is coming off a major success in democracy protection in 🇬🇹's election. Morale appears up after divisions of recent yrs. Could the body make a difference in case where democratic backsliding is more gradual, 🇵🇪?
